You and I both know that's not what it means. Only thing that gives me hope that Chara didn't smite them all is that Flowey still tells you everyone's fine down there when entering the game after completing Soulless Pacifist.
It's implied, if not stated outright, that Chara's coffin is empty because Toriel took their corpse when she left Asgore. I'm pretty sure the flowers in the Ruins are Chara's gravesite.
Well, here is my reason for thinking so, and it is full of assumptions but i think it can make sense.
Chara comes back to life at the end of the Genocide route, so we know that it is possible for a human at least to be resurrected.
Now, on the pacifist run the coffin is closed, but after Asriel returns everyone's soul the coffin is open and it is stated that there are bandages in it.
Now it is open to interpretation what this means, but i think it means that Chara has been revived and possibly left the underground.
How was he revived?
There are several good guesses to this, as stated in the wiki how he came back in the genociede route: Chara states they were brought back to life by the player's power and determination, and that the purpose of their reincarnation was power itself.
I don't think it is to much to envision that the power from asriels god of hyperdeath and the players determination brought Chara back in the pacifist route.
Why is Chara back?
To ******** up..
Depending on how you envision Chara, my thought is that he is evil and calculating based on a few things. When he poisoned Asgore he laughed it of. Asriels states that Chara was basically mean to him all the time, and when Asriels had absorbed his soul and was attacked in the village Chara wanted to destroy them all. But it was Asriel that stopped it. Chara has alot of anger in him and seems to want to went it on the rest of humanity.
I think the issue with having Asriel absorb his soul was part of a plan Chara had to gain power to kill humans, but he was foiled by Asriel refusing to harm anyone.
Now i don't think he had anything to do with what happens after he dies. But i am wondering on how he was resurrected at the end of the genocide run, did he have a something to do with it? If so he could probably have the opportunity to do the same in the pacifist run with all that power and determination going aroBut in the pacifist run he didn't get the power from all the absorbed souls Frisk had and therefore hid/ran to plot something for the future.
Anyways, that is basically the framework on why i think that Chara is alive at the end of the pacifist route. It's not solid but i don't think it is entirely unreasonable either.
What are your thoughts?
It always bugs me when people make Frisk and Chara living together or some **** , like they're totally ignoring the fact that Chara is a psychotic, genocidal little freak beyond any redemption.
