Hey, Undertale fandom, maybe in between all the spoilers and ****** fan-art and declarations about the second coming of the vidya christ, you should've warned newbies that using the protagonist's actual name makes the game 5 times harder?
Cuz I just figured that out, thanks to dying 5 times in a row.

I wouldnt worry about it too much, since the hard mode only exists up until the end of the ruins.

I mean, you basically just found an easter egg
You activated Hard Mode, which is meant to be a joke, mainly because it's canonically impossible for the name the player puts in to be "Frisk", you'll find out why later.

Feel free to finish it, but it'll eventually kick you back to the beginning of the game after finishing the tutorial level. You'll get a few recurring lines and references to parts you may pick up on as you go through the actual game, and you won't have any problems with regular enemies anymore since you've fought literal endgame monsters at only 20 HP.

Try "Chara", you'll get a message saying "This is the True Name"
Or better yet, as Toby Fox himself said, put in your own name for a more authentic experience.

Can't say much more, I probably already spoiled too much, so just don't think about it too hard.
