You know what makes this even worse?

The Royal Guard bought ALL the nicecream, there is nothing left for you
User avatar #11 to #10 - shadowkingdr [OP](11/27/2015) [-]
nice cream tastes bad anyways
#12 to #11 - moorgar ONLINE (11/27/2015) [-]
That is exactly what someone without nicecream would say
#15 to #13 - moorgar ONLINE (11/28/2015) [-]
mixed up names?
#36 to #32 - moorgar ONLINE (11/28/2015) [-]
Yeah sure, why should i say sorry to this ****** who doesn´t like nicecream?
User avatar #50 to #36 - lerotheumbrella (11/29/2015) [-]
i dont know , i did a genocide run for my first play-through
User avatar #52 to #50 - moorgar ONLINE (11/29/2015) [-]
i doubt that, you see

to play through the genocide run you actually need a soul that you can give to chara

but till you started with it i think you couldnt get past that part
User avatar #53 to #52 - lerotheumbrella (11/30/2015) [-]
took me longer than i will admit to figure out you were calling me soulless
User avatar #24 to #11 - assassindash ONLINE (11/28/2015) [-]
Maybe you shouldn't be a genocidal demon from the realm of hell? Ever consider that?
User avatar #37 to #24 - shadowkingdr [OP](11/28/2015) [-]
you talk to sans on every run, thats not chara its frisk
User avatar #17 to #10 - shadowstepone (11/28/2015) [-]
his shortcut is going back in time, to when there was nicecream left
User avatar #18 to #17 - Bruda (11/28/2015) [-]
When does it say he can time travel?
User avatar #19 to #18 - shadowstepone (11/28/2015) [-]
He has a mysterious broken machine, can travel unbelievably quickly and has several passwords reserved for time travelers.
User avatar #20 to #19 - Bruda (11/28/2015) [-]
A mysterious broken machine doesn't mean Time Travel.
Teleportation is a thing and even if he was moving fast that still doesn't mean time travel.
He recognizes that people act different like they experienced everything before.
Also he apparently has been a problem to Flowey for a long time causing Flowey to reset. Everyone remembers a little bit from loads. Toriel mentions it. So it's understandable that someone as observant as Sans to notice when someone loads.
User avatar #21 to #20 - dndxplain ONLINE (11/28/2015) [-]
Shadowstepone is actually correct in this. Sans and Alphys were the two assistants to W.D Gaster, the former royal scientist, who discovered the SAVE function and were working on time travel. In the Genocide run, you can find evidence that he's continuing Gaster's work.

The only people who say anything about things with past timelines are creatures who get their soul absorbed by Flowey. Only boss-monsters can have their souls absorbed. Sans is one of these people.

just saying.
User avatar #23 to #21 - Bruda (11/28/2015) [-]
Doesn't Flowey explain that only the person with the most determination can save?
User avatar #26 to #23 - shadowstepone (11/28/2015) [-]
that's true, because he's not saving. He has a method of time travel entirely seperate from determination
that, or he lost his determination from going back too many times
User avatar #29 to #26 - Bruda (11/28/2015) [-]
If he can time travel why doesn't he stop you from gaining LOVE or saving Papyrus.
User avatar #30 to #29 - dndxplain ONLINE (11/28/2015) [-]
the reason he's lazy is because he kept going back and learned that it was futile. everything is futile.
the reason he fights you in true pacifist, he declares that he couldn't stand by and do nothing anymore.
User avatar #45 to #30 - cleomech (11/28/2015) [-]
That is definitely wrong.
Flowey had the most determination before Frisk entered the underground, and he used it to do everything until he got bored.

After Frisk does finally show up, the determination he carries with him overpowers that of Flowey's. But, even though that's frue, Flowey still has enough determination to keep his memories every time you time travel. He can not time travel on his own.

Same with the "boss" monsters. They have faint memories of past events because they have relatively strong souls (still 1000x weaker than a human), and with that, just enough determination to remember small things.
User avatar #46 to #45 - dndxplain ONLINE (11/28/2015) [-]
I am fully aware of that.
he doesn't travel using the save system. He has a time machine.
that's why he, like the other boss monsters, only can tell because of the look on your face.
User avatar #47 to #46 - cleomech (11/28/2015) [-]
Right, I totally jumped the gun here. I thought this discussion was about Flowey, not Sans.
User avatar #48 to #47 - dndxplain ONLINE (11/28/2015) [-]
I wouldn't really consider Flowey lazy.
User avatar #31 to #30 - dndxplain ONLINE (11/28/2015) [-]
genocide*
User avatar #42 to #31 - sennar ONLINE (11/28/2015) [-]
so, resuming everything, sans can time travel, but only in one timeline, be it the genocide, the neutral or the true pacifist, right?
User avatar #43 to #42 - dndxplain ONLINE (11/28/2015) [-]
we honestly don't know if he can anymore, but he definitely can teleport.
#3 - xskullgirlsx (11/27/2015) [-]
I don't think Ice cream can make up for being attacked by a dog

User avatar #16 - izaya (11/28/2015) [-]
YES! exactly what I was thinking the whole pacifist run.

Yeah, you can reason with all the enemies and I know that most monsters don't know that Frisk is that fragile, but years of videogames have taught me one thing: "you attack me - I curbstomp you or die trying", so doing the pacifist run honestly made me more angry than happy
User avatar #34 to #16 - thechosentroll (11/28/2015) [-]
I think that was sort of Undertales' goal - to show you how weird and harmful the usual RPG system of killing everything on sight is and how it makes you a horrible person.

In the words thoughts of Gordon Freeman "I wonder if the judge'll believe it was several hundred cases of self-defense."
#49 to #34 - anon (11/28/2015) [-]
Except it kind of falls on it face when you have a character that says, "I'm going to ******* murder you!"

I can understand that for 90% of the enemies in the game. Sans, Papyrus, almost every minor enemy, etc. But the final boss, Undyne, and a few others, no. And honestly it is because of that reason I don't feel any sympathy for the final scene, or even Toriel for that matter.

Is it the message of the game? Yeah. Do I think it was done well? No. At times, but no.
User avatar #1 - ingloriousgamer (11/27/2015) [-]
spoiler doesnt sans have 1 hp, wouldnt he have died?

silly, only his ketchup backets in his jacket have one hp! right?? right?

User avatar #8 to #1 - SirFail (11/27/2015) [-]
Damage is based on your willingness to kill/hatred so only if frisk wanted to kill sans would he die from it.
User avatar #4 to #1 - thegreatpapyrus ONLINE (11/27/2015) [-]
I DON'T THINK IT'S SO MUCH HE HAS 1 HP, MORE SO HE HAS NO DEFENCE, LETTING FRISK WHO BY THAT POINT IN THE GENOCIDE RUN HAS BEEN POSSESSED BY CHARA OHK HIM
#7 to #4 - anon (11/27/2015) [-]
I feel like Sans' stats are only so low in the fight with him because they've been lowered by your actions. Remember how monsters' bodies are attuned to their souls? By that point, you've taken pretty much everything from him.
#25 to #4 - nazkan (11/28/2015) [-]
Sans is listed as having 1 HP in the game files.

Though to be honest, once you beat Undyne, Frisk is powerful enough to one shot just about anyone in the underground so it wouldn't matter what his defense and health are. The only reason Sans doesn't die instantly is because he actively breaks the rules of combat to give you a bad time.
User avatar #35 to #25 - thechosentroll (11/28/2015) [-]
He doesn't so much break the rules of combat as much just using common sense. Like trying to ******* DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOODGE!

chara doesn't possess frisk until after Genocide.

Good point. Frisk may have made friends but everyone has been trying to kill him constantly.
User avatar #54 - thymarx ONLINE (12/19/2015) [-]
This is actually something i have been thinking about, i mean at first i didn't see why Toriel was protecting you from going outside, because everyone was friendly, but then i realized, that in all those random fights, the monsters are trying to kill you, like they aren't friendly for **** , they may try to talk to you but they are still ******* trying to kill you, what gives?
User avatar #39 - tigreman (11/28/2015) [-]
I.... I don't get it.
I'm retarded, can someone explain?
User avatar #40 to #39 - josemanuelcenteno (11/28/2015) [-]
the game remembers all you do, firsk is thinking about the genocide run you fight sans there and he is a bad time...

no, its about all the crap she has seen on her way there, look at the projectiles, they are all of the bosses she has seen so far
