They never really say if he is or isnt, but its assumed that he isnt given that whenever there is a giant, they are always twice his size and they say its a giant.

Technically not human, they are not born of the Darksoul, which granted the pygmy and his friends humanity. They are most likely from the Light Soul, which was obtained by Gwyn.
