I'm playing the game now and I have to say it is very overrated. Everyone overhyped it so much I had such high expectations for it, it's an alright game don't get me wrong, but I expected it to be flawless due to all the hype it was getting. Same thing happened with that movie Frozen, everyone was super hyped about it, then I finally decided I should watch it because I wanted to be part of the hype... absolutely wound up hating it

komandantmirkoo (12/16/2015) [-] i can see how that would be a problem. i went into it mostly blind, before the fandom really kicked off, and i absolutely loved it because it honestly surprised me.
if i just now started playing it i would probably be a bit underwhelmed because of all the hype.
don't get me wrong. i would still probably love it, but the best thing about it was like a sense of wonder which is now sadly gone.

joeyliquid (12/16/2015) [-] Agreement, I played it because i though whatever. It was just average, I've played a **** ton of JRPG's and you know it was exactly like one of those. Still whatever, not that anyone plays a lot of JRPGs since they don't ever get translated in mass amounts.

anon (12/16/2015) [-] I can agree with the frozen thing, it's good for a children's movie but fell victim to pop song syndrome where it's over played and hype for a good but not great movie. Doesn't help let it go is just fireworks with different lyrics and won a reward, I also can't Liston to any of the music from it b/c it cring at how hype people got over it despite being standard. Undertale is similar but it is meant for all ages and really doesn't pander to any one group or age, it also helps that Toby has restricted people from selling unofficial things. Though it could be seen as being unfair, temmie herself was sad she couldn't buy herself that was fan made because of the policy, think if he let people freely make money of it it would be worse then it is now. He's sorta doing a reverse touhou thing since touhou basically is the way it is because fans made stuff for it and sold it which manually grew the fans. But why he's doing that when it worked for touhou is there's a possibility that this type of fandom turning out bad if the thing is open to more people like undertale, with a previous example of this being homestuck. Touhou didn't meet this fate because it isn't as open as homestuck is, since it's got a language barrier and the game play is bullet hell. I could go on but I'm starting to get off topic so I'll leave it at this

thesadassasin (12/16/2015) [-] I got the game the same day it came out (my birthday) from my best friend, I played it maybe... 1 hour after release, and I am so ******* happy that I couldn't get anything possibly spoiled.
If you are on a site like funnyjunk, and you start seeing posts about a game that interests you, take a break from FJ and play the game. Don't get your hopes up, only your interest.

thenobodyorigin (12/16/2015) [-] That is because you set your expectations way to high. When people love a game. they will ignore the bad things around it. The game itself is great. I love it. But if you keep hearing that it is the best game ever better then great games from the past. I can understand that the hype up to it cannot compare to the game. So all by all. Everyone there opinion. But i really think the reason you don't enjoy it is because of all the hype.
I do must note. The best moments of the game happen at the endings of the game. / near the end of the game.So maybe you will like it more later on. If you decide to keep playing.

So the thing most people think that happen.
Is that when you beat omega flowey. The explosion of him and the 6 human souls are enough to shatter the barrier for a small amount of time even if this doesn't kill flowey the 6 human souls + your soul could have been enough to go trough. which is possible. But there are also people suggesting that frisk dies after the hole encounter. I haven't looked to much into this for i think it's a long shot. But it might hold water. But what i think happened. Is when flowey took over your save file etc. you where already passed the barrier / he already broke it *having 6 souls and he himself may have none but is powerfull enough kind of deal* But then you defeat him. And you get the control back of the world. And it returns how it was. just after the barrier. and to the last door to the outside.

therockofshame (12/17/2015) [-] My theory is that you have traces of Charas soul and it gives you just enough power to cross. But I never really looked into it.
