I suggest you take a look at it if you have a controller
I was able to play it without a controller, but there is a section of the game that was VERY tedious because i was using the keyboard. At least that section apparently had a failsafe for when its not possible to use 360 degrees of rotation. this link is obviously not here to be used to pirate stuff or try it out or something, no sir
You need to login to view this link
Its been a great experience for me. If anyone has even a remote interest in games that play with your feelings, this is pretty much the top of the list of games I recommend. Especially since it is one of very few games that where able to make me cry.
Someone else has already said it, but ill say t again to drive the point home: spec ops: the line
Dont research it just get it and play it, its even better if you play theough the whole thing at once, which takes 3-4 hours
AN INDIE GAME THAT CAME OUT OF NOWHERE AND BECAME POPULAR ENOUGH TO BEAT MANY POLLS? WHY DO I FEAR THAT THIS WILL GO THE WAY OF A PARTICULAR ANAMATRONIC BEAR? I AM NOT READY FOR AN "UNDERTALE WORLD" FREMIUM GAME!!!
I am pretty sure he is making another game. This was said when the fundraiser got to its stratch goals. So a new game comes from him. The question is what kind of game. and will it be as good as undertale?
Never before has a fan base turned me off of a game harder than Undertale.
I played it and thought it was pretty okay but the vast amount of circle jerking involved makes me actively loath it's existence.
This is gonna go down in the video game history books, the day undertale beat all the games, holy *********** , we actually managed to beat m64, ooc, ssbm, and ******* smw! HOW DID WE BEAT MARIO WORLD!?!?
Well, technically i barely finished it and sent it to myself per e-mail to open it form the Prof's Laptop
And i also missed to print out the cards with the information that wasn't on my presentation so i had to improvise
But hey, he liked it and my audience enjoyed it too.
It's about "Kath", a drug that is grown excessively in Eastern Africa and the Yemen. The first proof of humans growing it commercially is a letter from 1322 by the King of Abessinia / Ethiopia, telling one of his rivals, that he would "take over his Palace and grow Kath on its ruins". Icebreakers are always a good thing to start with
also UT can go **** itself in response to that first picture, i don't care how much revenue it makes, tell that to the increase of communication, internet and widespread commercialism we have today versus when Zelda came out.
i know you probably arent but if you are, its all good.
i was commenting out of angsty-ness mostly because of my name. i really am not super against UT i just never got into it when it was popular and am too lazy to try now haha
eh, it's still better than most. I'll admit, the endless torrent of content can be grating, but there's no weird **** in there; softcore porn, actual porn, unnecessary crossovers, etc. It just seems to be game/lore-related stuff.
As someone who's played the game and discovered the majority of it's hidden **** , it's not all everyone is hyping it up to be. Neither was Melee, but for some reason people make them both out to be life changing masterpieces. I see people claim that Undertale made them feel **** , but I honestly have a hard time imagining that. How can something like this provoke such emotion? And the characters, how are they any different from what you'd find in any B-list anime? The story is great, and the gameplay innovative, but nothing to get worked up over. I legitimately don't get it.
Let's be honest here. Pretty much every single game that's considered 'best game ever' is just a hype train in some form. The only thing that separates the legitimacy is how long that train keeps on chuggin'. For example:
(please note, I love most/all of these games, I'm just playin devil's advocate)
-Melee has (now) **** graphics, awkward control responses, and some of the most ridiculous sounds I've ever heard.
-Half-Life is an intersting FPS whose only saving grace is an interesting plot. Even then, is HL3 had dropped on schedule and the series had concluded, it wouldn't be nearly what it is now.
-Undertale just came our this year and looks like some of it was drawn by an 8 year-old. I mean, **** , the protagonist looks like they've had a stroke when facing the screen (their whole body slumps to the right and there are almost no player animations.
-Fallout 3: The Storyline. Mostly cardboard NPCs. Obligatory 'the overworld is so bland it's practiaclly a wasteland' pun.
-Old Pokemon Games: Imbalanced typesets, horrifically overpowered monsters (now Ubers), stupidly repetetive pokemon cries, etc.
-Anything by Bethesda: "It's a feature!"
-WoW: Go get bear asses. (nowadays) Go get more bear asses that are lying on the ground and watch a 3 minute cutscene that phases you out of the zone (and from your friends) to watch what should be a world boss tiered NPC get curbstomped by a bunch of trash and a first tier raid boss.
-etc.
-etc.
-etc.
Come on we all know that most gamers reaction to the question "is Undertale the best game?" would be Under-what?
-I don't give two ***** for these half-assed pixelated "it's supposed to be indie" graphics that are everywhere today.
-The combat was actually pretty neat. Not something that would entertain me for ages, but a pretty original concept.
-The whole concept of to 'kill or not to kill', was interesting, but it really felt like the game was taking cheap shots at every corner to dupe you. For example the game never really explains the mechanics of how to show mercy, and it's placed where from other RPG you'd expect some sort of forfeit bottom. Also a ******** of characters appears to attempt to murder you with fire and laser spears, but think again, they were just peaceful and happy people all along and you are the evil one.
-It had some pretty good writing.
-The soundtrack was ok, Megalovania Which isn't original. was still the one standing most out though.
A cool game for more or less a one man project, but I think we all know it isn't going to be remembered as the best game of all time. More likely it won due to its online community of die hard fans caught wind of its success in the poll.
Eh. I'm just glad to see an Indie game get some solid recognition. There's so many out there that are so good, and just underplayed because they don't have the branding. Games that are either really good on a story level, or a design/creativity level, or they've just got so much replayability. Hell, I've got (way) more hours clocked in FTL than a bunch of big-name games... for like $10.
Analogue: A Hate Story/Hate Plus, Bastion, Before the Echo, Binding of Issac, Braid, Cave Story, The Fall, FTL, Gods Will Be Watching, Gunpoint, Hitogata Happa, Long Live the Queen, One Way Heroics, Papers Please, Plague Inc, Race the Sun, Recettear, Rogue Legacy, Shovel Knight, Skullgirls, Sunless Sea, Terraria, Touhou (an 18 year old Indie series with like 20 games), Unholy Heights... just to name some of the best ones.
Let's be honest, that whole competition is kinda dumb anyway. Gamefaqs shouldn't really be the deciding source of BEST GAEM EVAR!!! They can't possibly represent the entire gaming community and its diverse interests.
I love Undertale, and a lot of the game listed, but I don't think you can compare games from completely different genres and expect a fair overall pick. Plus, Undertale is still in its peak, it just came out last year.
At the end of the day, don't get salty or gloat over pointless competitions such as this, as they only make the game and fandom look bad as a result. It's just not worth it.
