I agree with the fact that hats and cosmetics cannot be aquired without payment, but I, as well as OP, don't see these as part of the gameplay.

What is true, though, is the fact that a free-to-play player in TF2's backpack is limited to 50 slots, which isn't nearly enough to fit all the gameplaychanging weapons that are available, even if you delete any non-gameplay-changing items you may have.

To play the game to it's full extent would require the possibility to use any combination of weapons, and although it is possible to do so with 50 slots by trading or deleting items you aren't using, I wouldn't say the game is playable to it's full extent if it isn't possible to have all possibilities available at one time,

Also, I'm a hat addict, don't judge me.

and you get less drops daily and the drops are less rare then a premium member, dosnt really matter though since all you need to do is buy anything in the game so you can get it for like 50 cents

I've gotten a few hats for free, I don't play it that much either.

Cosmetics can be acquired without paying any money. All it would require is a lot of playtime. I believe you have a 1/24 chance of getting a hat or cosmetic as a drop from the weekly item drops.

If you're on F2P then it's impossible to get cosmetic drops.
