I couldn't even get to episode 2. The looming plot hole scared me too much, so I gave up.

The whole "So, it's perfectly legal for 90% of the people using the device to ******* DIE and the authorities won't do jack ****.". And, yes, I'm aware of the fact that he was some sort of god-tier programmer (the last batch of angry SAO fans told me), but no matter how good of a programmer he was, the game could still be hacked and modified, so that all the enemies are fluffy bunnies. You can't make something unhackable. Programmes just don't work that way.

Maybe they were trying to hack it.... Just it took them 2 years to no avail.
Maybe that... Or the fact he had so many hostages and threatened he would kill them all if they tried anything. I sorta started to dislike SAO as it got near the end.

Also, the healing ability was merely OP for -that- floor, and below.
Later, when you actually get to see his stats, you see that he simply stopped using it, because he could only have "so and so many" abilities equipped, and 600 HP ~10 seconds simply wasn't worth it. Once he started hitting the later floors, and if the game "Infinity moment", (The game takes on an alternative ending, where a glitch stopped the series from ending, and starts at floor 75, continuing up to floor 100 to make the game end as it was -supposed- to ), the absurd amount of hp the characters have at that point makes 600 hp -extremel- neglible.

So yes, it was good at that point, but it tapered off in usefulness, and thus was not seen again.

Much like having a bunch of level 30 people whittling away at a level 80 guy in WoW. The growth is simply too exponential.

This was some of the most ******** in that anime
Why is it that in a game centred around teamwork and everyone that doesn't work in a team gets slaughtered, but kirito that refuses to work in a team is OP.

That and everyone of the girls falling for him.
He's just a loser playing games all day.

Kirito was OP because like you said, he's a loser who plays games all day.
It's even mentioned how he was a beta tester of the game, remembering and probably even going so far as to writing down and memorizing that ****.
He essentially uses that advantage to know where the good farm is, when it respawns, what average level he should be and so forth.

The thing about the girls falling for him is just part that puts it in the "harem" genre, which is how I found it originally.

Yes I know that but is op powers go beyond that. It ended up being a " If i believe in my self I break the game" just so he wouldn't die and it happened twice. Also the website i go to it wasn't labeled a harem and even if it was it was filled with useless stereotypical female characters. And even the harem genre is pretty unrealistic and annoying (Kirito is literally a guy who plays games all day and doesn't even look that stunning.) The romance was bland and pathetic. It ended up being a "hey i just met you, and this is crazy, but lets get married, and have a baby" When they are pretty much 16 . Even before the first half it was ****. Yes it was a very pretty anime and overall it OK or even less that that. It's just terribly overrated *spoilers* Another thing is that when that chick who died in the trap dungeon I felt no emotions at all which is rare because I'm usually the one to cry.

I agree with the chick dying part, there wasn't enough time given to establish a good relationship between the two (I admit though, when I saw that he got a message from her later I did feel a bit ****, but only momentarily)

The website I was on described it as a Harem, and a thing I have always loved about harem was the fact that they left things unresolved and made me feel empty (which is when I feel the closest to the idea behind "being an average human" something which has fascinated me for a long time)

Yeah, it's essentially a sappy Disney Movie put into the art style of Anime and uses the Online Gaming World as its setting. The "If I believe in myself I break the game" can be interpreted in many ways, to me, it essentially shows the power of a hacker, and the damage he can do. It can also be interpreted that the game was so long in development that it can give buffs (both positive and negative) to characters based on their current emotions in game, whilst I like my hacker idea better, I find that the buff idea is the more sensible one out of the two.

He wasn't a hacker though. he was just a really good movie. And the whole buff thing has no real ground. It sounds like wishful thinking rather then fact. You say its an interpretation when its really just something you made up to cover up a flaw. I dislike the harem genre for the sheer stupidity and unrealistic scenarios. most have that includes sword art online.

It's not really ******** since he was on a lower floor and had an ability equipped to heal 600hp every 10 seconds.

But because of playing games all day, he got poon.

Of course he's OP, he's helping a lower level player get a side quest done in an area FAR below his level. It's like a level 90 in WoW going to Darkshire to help with Mor'Ladim.
