I stopped watching it after Sam came back from the cage and the writers just started pulling shit out of their asses.

I had a girlfriend who was obsessed by the series and couldn't talk about anything else in the last part of the relationship. Broke it off and learnt to stay away from fangirls (she wasn't when I met her)

I told my girlfriend about the show cause I was annoyed when they started doing that weird purgatory shit. She started watching it. I regret everything.

She made me watch all episodes until mid season 7 and she became more and more weird because she found some friends on deviant and tumblr. She spent about 90% of her sparetime doing something related to the series.

Mine never made me watch it with her past Sam returning after cage because she knew I didin't like any of it.
I'm sorry man that sounds awful, at least you got out while you could.
