Hey hater, marijuana doesn't do enough damage to your lungs to cause permanent damage, or even considerable damage. The only way you can really do damage to your lungs while smoking marijuana is to smoke out of blunts

Yes, at a young age. However, I am past the age at which it can harm any of those things.

I do not condone smoking marijuana in children or young adults.

I didn't start smoking until I was 17. I am now 21. I have regular doctor visits and my IQ tests actually showed up HIGHER than when I didn't smoke. It affects everyone differently, but if you are responsible, you can enjoy it and not do yourself harm. That is my personal opinion, not trying to start shit fire.

I think to each his own, but I am just showing that it does have it's share of risks. The majority of pot smokers are in middle school to high school. You said you started at 17 as well. The brain and other organs are not fully developed at that age either. On a brighter note for stoners...I think they should legalize it, but charge the shit out of anyone buying or selling it. Win win for everyone involved. (Also, not trying to start shit. I still believe people can be civilized in debate.)

I will not dispute the facts that marijuana can do damage, but I know that in my case, it truly helps me because I have anxiety issues. It calms me and gives me a quality of life I could not have on any other medication, because they all make me so drowsy I literally can not function properly enough to hold a job or go to school. I now work full time and go to school at night, because marijane makes me calm and giggly instead of dopey and lethargic all day. Doesn't flatten my personality or mood at all, just helps on all levels. I completely understand why some people don't do it, and I don't have any problems with them at all. A lot of my best friends have never touched the stuff.

I agree with you, that we should legalize, and that it should have a tax like all things, but I feel that it should have the same tax as everything else. I also think that tobacco smokers being taxed so severely is unfair. Yes, the habit is unhealthy, but the government is trying to use a habit that they allowed us to develop to fund the deficits they created when they started spending all their money and lining their pockets, raising their own income every year.

There should be a flat income/sales tax. Period. lol Sorry bout the rant, I enjoy conversating a lot when it comes to politics/philosophy :)

Like you said previously, it does affect people in different ways. While it helped you, it could be harming a child that does it simple to fit in, not to help themselves concentrate or calm down. Also on that point though, I don't believe people should rely on drugs (prescription or not) to help them recover from a bad day.

On a side note, I do not like that people drive under the influence of marijuana. I know a lot of people say that it does not affect driving skill, but alcoholics also say drinking doesn't affect them either. It effects everyone differently though. I once had a friend that was "driving a spaceship" in his car. Not safe.

I do agree on a tax. People make choices everyday and if your choice was to smoke or take any sort of drug and get addicted to it then taxes should be paid. If takes are paid on food, water, and all other things humans enjoy, then drugs should also be taxed (including tobacco)

I agree with that. But then that is the where the effects it has on you originate from when/how you choose to use it. I don't drive while I am high, I feel it is exactly the same as driving under the influence of alcohol. Although it doesn't do the same thing to your body, it does inhibit your reaction time and your ability to make cognitive decisions in an appropriate manner for such tasks as driving.

I believe children should not have access to marijuana until the legal tobacco age of 18. This gives them time to develop and finish their high school years without degrading their minds and education because kids sometimes get so transfixed on drugs that they don't care about anything else. I feel like, if they can finish high school (or at least most of it) without touching any kind of drug, they will be much more likely to make smarter decisions about using them and also have a grip on their education so that their future is brighter and they will more likely to have their priorities in order, so they can go to school and do well, and still be able to use mj responsibly.

Seriously do some research, educate yourself kid. There has never been a recorded death caused by marijuana, no studies have shown any brain damage (except Heath/Tulane, and that was a result of malpractice, oxygen deprivation for over 5 minutes), no cases of marijuana only smokers getting brown lung syndrome, emphysema or any type of cancer (it has been suggested that marijuana slows down tumor growth in certain studies). Just look at what Dr Lester Grinspoon of Harvard medical school has said...I seriously pity people like you who limit the depth of their lives due to sheer stupidity, have fun! ^^
