You are right, either the rod starts outside of the pringles can and slowly pushes up as you turn it, or we have a hole in the chips. You can not compress the threaded rod in the middle so that it looks like a normal can. Unless, you use a spring with the inside of the can being threaded, and as you turn the bottom, the chips push out. But overall, you are right dude.
