Before I get thumbed into oblivion, let me make my point, american was founded on the right of free speech, the right to bear arms, yada yada yada, that's what makes this country great to so many people. If America took away the second amendment, people would go nuts, riots, impeachment, everything.

the UK's murder rate has gone up since they banned guns, contrary to the violent Americans stereotype you are actually more likely to be assaulted in the UK than in the US, you are 10 times more likely to be burglarized in the UK than in the US. Riot's involving massive property damage are more likely in the UK than in the US. And the statistic that pissed people off the most 80% of the people murdered with guns in the US are felons so its not like we're losing great people. You Englishmen may want to consider re-legalizing guns just to clean up some of the trash in your country.

But I'm not English, nor am I from the UK. I just think it's a good example.
I do disagree with the point of some of your facts, however. Theft and assaults don't come with guns in my opinion. With or without guns they wouldn't really change, it's the murder that I care about, and more people are murdered per capita in America than UK.

That's true, but the ease of it is significantly less so it occurs less. It was easy because it was man vs children. Gun or knife wouldn't make a difference. Whereas man vs 28 men, gun could kill them all, a knife probably wouldn't.

Fun fact, you're more likely to be the victim of a violent or deadly crime in the UK than in the US. You're just less likely to be shot in said crime. Funny thing about statistics.

Murder rate UK, per 100k, is like 1.1. In the US it's like 4.4. However, they, UK, do have a higher violent crime rate.

It is however nice to see a drop of murder rates in both countries in recent years. Not that anyone talks about that. that 4.4 used to be a 9.7. I'm pretty sure they're 1.1 was high up there a while ago too.
