i have a decent mahogany pipe (cant be fucked finding out what type) but it's a short stem and even when i'm just using rolling tobacco because i ran out of my pipe tobacco it becomes a pain to clean. ended up having to scrape the inside of the bastard out with a nail file

i have filters but i'm talking about the tobacco bowl itself, it just builds up with tar and ash so i scrape it clean

mahogany is a pretty sturdy wood and the pipe is quite thick so it doesn't really matter
