If there's gonna be a giant battle that will end the show as it's planned to, I wanna se one thing and one thing only... JOHN CENA - oh **** .jpg, sorry, wrong one. Ahem, one or two gems being killed in said gigantic huge ass battle. Either by the enemy, or by saving another's life in a heroic act. Or maybe even better - after all that fighting, after all those times and friendship, the Crystal gems just lost this one. And none of that "Wishing others back" or something like that - let them stay dead. My guess for said gems that should die in said battle:

I don't know about you, but if something like that happened in the show, I would cry like I never have before. Sometimes the best end to a story is just to let the heroes fail, and some of them dying, and letting the evil win.

well i am pretty sure the 2nd seasson end with the destruction of the cluster.
after that they have to fear the revenge of yellow diamond.
but if they defeat yellow diamond and the other diamonds say, **** it, let earth be earth, the show would end.
so in the end only yellow diamond has to die.

whereas killing off a beloved character would be the opposite - outsiders wouldn't care, and the fans would be pissed.

so it's a difference between pissing off outsiders in order to cater to the fanbase, and directly pissing off much of the fan base. not saying they 100% won't, but what they've done so far is very different to what you're suggesting

eh it would feel super anti climatic if all the crystal gems died and the earth was lost. The series isn't all that edgy so far and it would be an annoying shift of tone for it to get all angsty and 'grim' right at the end.

I can definitely see Jasper dying as last minuet redemption turn, and their are few key jems that I reckon will die. What's worse is that they're probably on hiatus again, unless we're going back to one episode a week.
