i actually have a theory on why the diamond authority, or at least yellow diamond) would like to destroy earth so much
i believe it has to due with the balance of power,from what was just reviled there are 2 major diamonds blue and yellow a little info about diamonds hidden in this spoiler Colored diamonds contain interstitial impurities or structural defects that cause the coloration, whilst pure diamonds are perfectly transparent and colorless
now diamonds unlike other gems are formed largely from carbon, an organic molecule,
imagine if the diamonds the originals in the gem race only grew from organic planets
it could be yellow diamond specifically targets organic planets to prevent another diamond from gestating and challenging her authority .As right now her power is equal with blue diamond but a third could easily tip the scales in her counterparts favor
or even worse their could be a theory that eventually a perfect colorless diamond would be born that would not only challenge her authority but would be better then her in every way

Gems dont come to life on their own
The mineral has to pre-exist and then be brought into being with their kindergarten technology
so you could just not inject diamonds

thats what im saying all other gems are brought to life by kindergarten technology
kindergarten technology designed by the diamonds , all other gems cannot exist without the diamonds because the other gems dont form naturally
but im arguing diamonds do form naturally simply over a process that takes millions of years
diamonds are post organic it could be diamond gems are the natural species's race

i like my theory still though it gives explanations for their caste system nicely
and why certain gems are literally made for one job
i.e ruby common solider amethysts super soliders peridots engineers/scientists pearls servants i wonder what lapis's function is
