I don't think darth maul got what his charachter design deserved.
User avatar #21 to #6 - captainrattrap (08/22/2014) [-]
TBH His character was really one-sided. All he was is a pissed off kid that got abused by palpatine to kill everything. He doesn't have much purpose beyond serving sidious and getting pissed off at **** .

But then again I don't like dark-siders for that exact reason, all they do is get pissed at **** .

Darth Maul lived.

That's all I need to know to know that I'll never watch this show. Because that's ridiculous.

he survives that too, and eventually gets killed by Luke. But he comes back again as a force spirit, taking control of cloud-city's AI system trying to get revenge on luke.

he's like the star wars version of Rasputin

Everyone's waiting for Episode 7 and I'm just sitting here wishing I could know what the **** happened to Maul and Ahsoka
#16 to #7 - hellsno (08/22/2014) [-]
I dont know if it's official star wars lore, but ahsoka appears in some fan fiction. Apparently she survives order 66 as she wasn't a jedi on the front lines any more. She even marries another jedi.

I'm still annoyed that the show didnt wrap up her story a little.
User avatar #18 to #16 - vikingpizza (08/22/2014) [-]

Going out on a limb here and saying fanfiction =/= canon sarcasm

Seriously though, that sounds reasonable
She probably wouldn't have been with the Jedi Order during Order 66, and the galaxy is pretty ******* big, so she easily could've run into another Jedi
What upsets me the most about not knowing is that they released another season that doesn't mention Ahsoka OR Maul, and instead focus on Jar-Jar ******* Binks for 3 episodes

Maybe they're avoiding it on purpose though
With Rebels coming out soon maybe they'll either give her a cameo or mention in passing what happened
Wishful thinking but dammit when I watch five seasons of a show and actually give a **** about the characters, I'd like to know what happened to them, or at the very least what the creators originally intended
#8 to #7 - widar ONLINE (08/21/2014) [-]
How's Maul even alive? And wouldn't Ahsoka be....dead? After the whole Order 66 thing?
#10 to #8 - vikingpizza (08/21/2014) [-]
Maul fought Palpatine with his brother, Savage. Savage dies and Palpatine captures Maul, hinting at having some evil plan that involves him.

Ahsoka gets falsely accused of murder and no one on the Jedi Council believes her story until Anakin clears it up. She leaves the Jedi Order after realizing she still isn't all that respected or trusted by them even though she's been there a while. Order 66 WOULD be a convenient explanation, but the problem is it isn't canonically confirmed that she was killed.

Here's a few possible outcomes for Ahsoka:
Dies during the Jedi Purge
Confronts Anakin during Purge, Anakin kills her himself (which would make so much ******* more sense as to why he believes he can't be redeemed. why the **** would he just all of a sudden kill a bunch of kids and choke his pregnant wife, who I might add, he was doing this **** to protect)
Encounters Anakin during Purge, he can't bring himself to kill her, she goes into hiding
and blazes it erry day with Yoda
Or she kills herself. This one would probably be the least likely outcome, but I mean, hearing that your old master is now a murderous, asthmatic can opener would probably not be all that uplifting

So yeah, the fact that the show ended right after Ahsoka just up and walks away sucks because even the creators haven't confirmed her fate.
If I remember right, one of them just said that what happens to her "probably isn't what you'd expect," or something like that.

to my knowledge the only retconned extended universe was all of the post-return of the Jedi stuff so things like knights of the old republic and the clone wars series is still cannon
User avatar #72 to #20 - huntergriff (08/22/2014) [-]
it's everything, originally it was thought, and it can still be thought that the post jedi stuff is non canon as it doesn't really affect anything from before the movies.

I think Clone Wars is remaining Canon as it takes place during the movies timeline.
User avatar #15 to #14 - vikingpizza (08/22/2014) [-]
I have no idea
They retconned a ton of **** and I can't keep up
Most of the expanded universe is non-canon now I think
I don't know if the Clone Wars movie or TV series falls under that category, but that was kind of ambiguous in the first place since the one from 2003 conflicts somewhat with 2008's series
User avatar #42 to #15 - huntergriff (08/22/2014) [-]
the one from 2003 can be considered canon, technically. the 2008 movie and show is completely canon.

Maul also does have a comic book spin off that carries on after his capture by Sideous called Darth Maul son of Dathomir.

He's captured but broken out by his army, which they allow so that he can rally his forces, lose them to Grievous and can be hunted down at his own bases of power where he will be dug out and destroyed.

However, he manages to capture both Dooku and Grievous and take them hostage, which Sideous doesn't really care about as he's sent the republic to flush out Maul. They band together, apart from Grievous who runs away using an escape pod... again, but with his forces destroyed and allies abandoning him he brings Dooku to Mother Tenzin of the Nightsisters (forgive me if I got that name completely wrong but I don't have the comics to hand or anything on Wookipedia to go on aside from memory

The plan is to get revenge on Sideous who stole knowledge from Tenzin and broke their agreement to join as allies, stole her son Maul and trained him, only to discard him soon after. They intend to resurrect her using Dooku's life force but are interrupted by Sideous who destroys her in a force duel as she sacrifices herself to save Maul. He escapes on a ship and that's all we know

TLDR Maul manages to escapes but loses his army. No idea what's happening for him next.

pick up Star wars: Darth maul-son of dathomir. It's a comic that was supposed to be a story arc for season six, but because it was cancelled, they never filmed it, so they made it into a comic instead. Also if you wanna read a novel about quinlan vos and asajj ventress, pick up star wars: Dark desciple. It's also a story arc that was supposed to be in season six.

Clone Wars is still canon. And until they get around to making movies that contradict it, so is everything pre-Episode 1.
The good news: Bane is canon regardless. He is mentioned near the end of Clone wars, and Yoda visits him. They specifically say that Bane established the rule of two and Destroyed the Brotherhood of Darkness. Because everything in Clone Wars is considered first-tier canon in the new system, Bane will always be apart of Star Wars

I've heard two things about this show that concern me. One is that it's out of order on netflix, but I could easily just look that up. The other is that it's apparently non-canon to the rest of the Star Wars Universe, and that they change a lot.
User avatar #78 to #68 - huntergriff (04/11/2015) [-]
no, the original clone wars (The one this show's animation is based off of) is non-canon. This IS canon, because Lucas himself actually had a hand in working on this.

No, this show is **** . Weird religious mojo and complete ignorance of any logic. I liked Ashoka and clone trooper action scenes, but otherwise it lost all of star wars feel for me. 4/10, maybe 5/10 for Delta Squad cameo and that one episode with other commando trooper.
