It was intentional, apparently it's JJ Abrams' habit of misleading future viewers by presenting "fake" ideas (in this case, suggesting that Finn is a Force sensitive while Rey isn't)
The idea was that we werent suppose to think that Rey was going to be the force sensitive one. All of the trailers pointed to Finn being the force user, so the huge poster isnt just gonna spoil it for everyone
you didn't watch the movie did you? he had it for most of the movie, and used it more often than rey. And considering he was in all of the trailers using the lightsaber they aren't just gonna be like oh no since rey is the jedi we gotta give her the lightsaber even though she barely used it
It makes more sense to have her with the lightsaber. It called to her, she beat the bad guy with it. She returned it to Luke, Finn only had it because he was told to give it to HER, How many total seconds Finn held it means less than nothing.
It doesnt ******* matter if she beat the bad guy with it and returned it to luke ALL of the advertising had him with the lightsaber and HE had it for 90% of the movie and HE used it more often than she did so they are going to put the lightsaber with FIN on the damn poster so no it wouldn't make more since to give it to rey when this is another advertisement for the movie
calling someone autistic isn't an ad hominem, it's an insult. He isn't using that as a basis for his arguments in any ways, therefore it's not a fallacy, just a dick move. Get your facts straight, anonfag <3.
did you even look at the poster, it is another ad so they are going to put fin with the lightsaber so your whole arguement of the lightsaber being rey's is absolutely meaningless when every last bit of advertisement gave the lightsaber to fin
Ok. And what I said was, notwithstanding ads or anything else completely irrelevant to my point, is that in light of the movies it makes more sense to have her with it. Now please rant and shriek about how ads have something to do with my point. It amuses me.
Mmhm. I'm sure you see it that way. Why don't you post as anon and pretend to be someone else agreeing with you again. You are the pinicle of hilarious cringe.
I did, what I meant is that Rey should be wielding the lightsaber, considering that, as far as we know, she can use the Force, and not Finn... Although Finn fought using the lightsaber.
General* he didnt get a "darth" name even though Count Duku trained him to use the light sabers.
Also he is a cyborg, used to be just a Kaleesh but started "upgrading" himself
The reason they put Finn with the lightsaber on all the advertisement was because they didn't want anyone to know that Rey was the actual force sensitive one. This type of advertisement that leads consumers to an erroneous conclusion is often used.
yes I do, no non force user is just that good with a lightsaber. I have little theories forming as to how his untrained force powers could play into the future movies
Not necessarily true. Using a lightsaber isn't much different from using a vibroblade. Even if it weren't, there is nothing about a lightsaber that renders it useless for non-force users. e.g. Pre Vizla, General Grievous, Anja Gallandro Non Force users that used a lightsaber quite well and are still canon.
There are many more examples, such as Boba Fett, that are no longer canon since Disney took over. The main reason that non force users don't use lightsabers is that they would benefit much more from using a blaster type weapon in "to the death" scenarios.
only jedi can use light sabers because the blade has no weight unlike an actual sword so your likely to just remove your own limbs without training carefully force sensitive people use the force to feel the blade so its actualy there for them and not some weightless electrofield bs that makes it up so non force people can use them but they have to put alot of attention into where the blade is vs just feeling where it is
Yet we have several examples of non force users being good with a lightsaber. Which is what I said. I never said they were as good as force users at utilizing them.
You basically negated your entire point anyways so I think we're on the same page.
"only jedi can use light sabers because...." -> "... so non force people can use them but..."

You can ask the cinema if you can have when they take it down. I have some friends who did this a few times. They got it for free as the posters were just going to be chucked
You know, i really want to know how that midget alien with the sight-deficiency managed to retrieve Lukes lightsaber from Bespin. I mean, it would have just continued sinking until it hit its own density, so it would be an absolute bitch to get.
