So, I think I will make a series of these.
Again, the content is not mine. enjoy.
One of the coolest/creepiest glitches was one I saw while watching my friend play Oblivion. He was walking through the wilderness when he was attacked by a guard. You know the drill:
"stop! you've violated the law!"
"Id rather die than go to prison!"
The guy dismounts and is cut down after just a few blows, but instead of going limp and falling to the ground like a normal dead guy should, his body flies backward 10 feet, gets pinned flat against a hill, and starts making death shouts as it convulses like mad, stuck in place, torso totally immobile with his limbs twitching and head spinning in 360s. Pretty standard Oblivion fare, right?
Wrong. The search button wasn't activated, the fight music didn't stop, and even though the characters were alone in the woods, we hear heavy, armored footsteps alarmingly close, but theres nobody in sight. We figured out what it was: the glitched life form of the (apparently possessed) "dead" guard, completely invisible, but could still hunting us. We tried stabbing the pinned body flailing on the hill to no avail, the health bar of "Imperial Guard" remained where it was.
The only option we had was to fight this invisible demon.
After a difficult and lengthy battle using only hand to hand weapons, audio cues, and the HUD to land hits, the transparent antagonist finally fell with a defeated cry and a clatter of metal. This seemed to have vanquished the spirit, granting the unfortunate guard with the eternal peace he deserved. The body on the hill came to rest at last. The guard seemed to be rewarding us for ending his suffering from the afterlife; a finally permitted search of the body netted us a sweet 6 gold. Your sacrifice will be remembered, peace keeper of Oblivion.
