I'd like to refer back to the 'rules' of Polandball comics; even though siteballs aren't countryballs I think the same rules should apply.
As ballcomics are made for comedy, a 'clean' look isn't something you really want, and it takes away the individuality of making ballcomics. Everyone can make the comics, and if everyone just uses tools all those comics lose identity.
