Based on my previous experiences on missing people i have to say that she is most likely already dead.

Actually most missing teenagers come back. In 2012, we had 661,000 cases of missing persons; all but 60.000 were under the age of 18, all but 2000 cases were solved in one months.
Less then 10.000 total were dead.
Unless its known its a kidnapping, there is 65 to 1 chance she will be home in a month.
So I'm going to go with that your previous experience is from tv shows.

I volonteer in a charity, we run a soup kitchen and a shelter for street kids.
Statistics like that are all over the office.
A lot of the kids are just dumb teenagers angry at the world, they go home after few days or weeks in the real world.
Some of them have stories about homes they ran away from that can give you nightmares.

That's good. I can imagine it's pretty shocking for the parents when the kids run off. People never usually hear about the factual side of things when they watch TV all the time and just assume that the world is filled with pedophiles and kidnappers which I find pretty sad because I figured a lot of times it's just teenage angst getting the better of kids. I know that isn't always the case and some kids really need to get out of their homes because they're being abused. I'm not really in a great place to talk about abuse, but I know that it happens. It's why protective services exist.
