"reference the the dog"

The german word for one is "Eins", not "Ein".

"Ein" is only used to signify the amount of something specific, like "ein Apfel" "One Apple"

But that does not change the fact that Ein is German for one

1 is very odd compared to the rest of the german numerals, while EINS would be rechnically correct you have to remember that this is an anime.
in japanese you can end a word with an N sound but not with NS, it would be harder for the main audience(japanese people) to understand and say.

so, time for you to go into a corner and bow your head in shame, while tthe authors of cowboy bebop clearly showed more knowledge of the german language than you of japanese language.
faggot.

and also just happens to be the german word for one. RWBY took that and made Zwei, another intelligent dog (and flaming ballistic missile)

It's funny as a reference but I mean, Ein was named Ein as a reference to Einstein, Ein isn't even "one" in German, it's like saying "I have a cookie." as opposed to "I have one cookie."

Also not crazy that Zwei was originally included only as a reference joke. RWBY doesn't have a gigantic cast of characters, throwing in ones randomly for a joke and keeping them puts your story at risk of becoming unfocused. The point of small casts (ironically shown very well in Bebop) is to make your viewers very familiar with all the members and to be able to understand their views without them shouting their opinions to the heavens. I'm not saying it was the end of the world, but when you have a character doing 180s like Weiss (remember when she was racist? Remember how that didn't go anywhere and it got dropped after one fight scene with an unrelated villain to the issue? Remember how she was the only character who had an actual study ethic, then became the team ditz?), schizophrenic personality shifts like Yang (She has huge amounts of other friends and doesn't hang out with Ruby by choice, instead choosing to hang out with her other friends... riiiight before never being seen with friends again and doting on Ruby), and just plain unclear and frankly lore-breaking characters like Blake (why do white fang defectors get killed, but defectors that go to a very well-known school that trains them to stop groups like white fang fine?) there could be a tremendous amount of value in devoting what is somehow filler in a very short show to actually nailing-down some personalities and backstories for the main cast. It isn't the actual dog that upsets me, it's the wasting of time that could be used to make the cast anything other than cardboard-cutouts that react to things.
