I mean given the bits of information I've come across so far , it's just some ********** CG animation that's way too over-hyped by its fans , who won't even tell me the plot of the thing , making me question whether there is one to it in the first place.
From what I've seen it's got the same plot as when teenage girls put an evenescence song over inuyasha clips, and everyone pretended to be real upset when the guy who was making them died.
It's a mashup of every anime trope ever that's half awesome and half garbage in basically everything it does. Some like it, some don't. the porn is good though
It's an animated series by Rooster Teeth. It's set in a world were mankind at all times have battled the creatures of grimm, which they first was even able to battle when they discovered a resource called Dust, gems with magic properties like fire and ice and stuff.
Present day all of humanity lives in 4 great kingdom with highly advanced technology, protected from the grimm by huntsmen and huntresses. The story follows a group of students training to become hunters, meanwhile a group of villains are plotting something in the shadows, something big. And the relationship between humans and faunus Humans with physical animal traits. Generally treated as second-class citizens. are getting heated.
The story takes place in the world of Remnant, which is filled with supernatural forces and shadowy creatures known as the "Creatures of Grimm". Prior to the events of the series, mankind waged a battle of survival against the Grimm before discovering the power of a mysterious element called Dust, which allowed them to fight back against the monsters. In the present day, Dust is used to power magical abilities and weapons. Those who use these abilities to battle the Grimm are known as Huntsmen or Huntresses.[19] The series focuses on four girls, each with her own unique weapon and powers. Together, they form team RWBY
I tried watching and episode.
All I got was ****** , stiff animation, unfunny "WOW SO RANDOM" humor, and a plot that made no ******* sense.
"Oh yeah the girl in the red can totally beat up the two armed men single handedly, CAUSE SHE'S JUST THAT AWESOME!!!!! XDDDDDDDDDD"
I just don't ******* get it, and anybody that dislikes it in the slightest is flat out ignored by those who do, no matter how good their points may be.
Though I don't have an opinion of the show nor do I plan on watching it to form one, I will continue to listen to the multiple opinions of others and accept them with grace.
So don't worry, here's a thumb for being brave enough to speak your mind.
Even better, the writers don't actually keep their previous narratives together. Ruby loses access to her scythe in a later scene and is literally useless, doesn't even know how to throw a punch. So apparently she drew her scythe, hit the guy, put the scythe AWAY, confronted the second guy, got scythe out, etc. Because after all, she is so weak, right?
So she is both pathetically weak and somehow able to maintain a grip on a scythe that by all rights has her moving around at roughly mach 2.
"Stiff animation" - It was decent enough considering it was largely one person doing the animating, especially the fight sequences.Season two gets better animation wise.
"Unfunny 'WOW SO RANDOM' humor" - Humor is entirely subjective. Some people like Gallagher, some people like the three stooges, some like Monty Python. Admittedly, humor isn't one the shows strong points for me.
"A plot that made no ******* sense" - You mean you deduced the entire plot from one episode? There wasn't a lot there. Humans were born of light, creatures of Grimm of dark. Light and Dark opposed, and so humans and Grimm fought. Humans, on the verge of being wiped out, found out how to harness elemental magic, and called it dust. The bbeg was robbing one dust shop, where Ruby interrupts him. After the fight, the headmaster of a combat school is impressed with her fight, and invites her to join his school.
"Oh yeah, the girl in red can totally beat up those two armed men" - Those guys were hired thugs from a bar wielding the equivalent of baseball bats. Ruby, as stated in the interview, has trained for years with "one of the most deadly weapons", a scythe. "I've only seen one other scythe wielding of that caliber, a dusty old Crow". "Oh yeah, that my uncle." She went to a combat school in addition to training with a master since a very young age. The headmaster runs the equivalent to a college, and invites her.
Overall, the show is definitely overhyped. But calling it a ******* awful show is just as bad.
