A lot of people that don't get into RWBY don't get into it because the art style hurts their eyes. It's pretty much just bad 3d pushed out to that extent on purpose with lots of janky inbetweens, super low detail backgrounds, and flat textures.

Fair enough. Still, i find it difficult to parse the action scenes in mango format, plus the whole colour thing. I grew up on European comics mainly, so bright colours are the preference for me.

I think my main issue with rwby is that in the trailers we were promised this cool fairytale-esque setting with lots of cool fighting scenes against cool monsters. Similar to the first part of the comic. But all we got was another boring highschool setting, like the second part of the comic. I mean season 3 has a lot more fighting and the animation is getting atleast somewhat decent. But all the fighting is in some stupid meaningless tournament, where the outcome of the fight doesn't really advance the plot much. But that's just my opinion so why the **** should you care anyway.

It looks really rushed, there's next to no shading and the linework is messy, plus 80% of the backgrounds are blank with the exception of the 'opening.' Looks kind of like a hasty one-off cash-in or a zero-effort manga remake. I can't say I'm impressed.
