you know I've been thinking. would Mercury really be okay with having his kneecap getting shattered, i mean it takes him almost completely out of the fight. his fighting technique is 100% about the use of his feet, yes he's capable of throwing punches but he's not very good at it. on top of this, i don't she merc being the type of guy to be unwavering loyal to cinder. he just feels way to much of a little **** to do something like that.

so, it may sound strange but i think Merc was completely unaware that this was cinders plan and on top of that i actually think he was trying to win. i mean cinder would most likely not consider anyone on team rwby a real threat. yes they took out roman, but he wasn't much of a fighter at all.

I think he knew he what was going on. Why else would he, a guy who fights with kicks, have been doing push-ups, an exercise for the arms/upperbody?
This is one of the reasons I love RWBY. Merc doing pushups was either a random thing they did that could become a great foreshadowing or they added it knowing what it foreshadowed, which from a literary perspective is insane to think the writers had that much forethought

well seeing as Blake was reading a book about a man with 2 souls fighting for control over his body. an entirely possible outcome for Phyrra if she under goes the aura transfer. id say the foreshadowing is rather good.

Another thing I've been thinking about: Which girls are gonna be the four guardians? Pyrrha looks like she's gonna be fall, and that's where I run into problems: Ruby is obviously gonna be either spring or summer, however, I think Yang fits summer great, and Weiss fits winter perfectly, so where does Blake fit in...?

It was said that the power transfers to the person the maiden thinks of last. This could mean Ruby and Weiss are going to be the Summer (Ruby's Mother) and Winter (Weiss' sister) maidens. Of course, this assumes the names are actually references, which isn't the case for the fall maiden, so it's just an idea. It would also mean that Winter has to die at some point which is unlikely, both because she is skilled and a high ranking officer and because I doubt the show will get that dark.

Side question: Aren't maidens supposed to be virgins? This would scrap the above idea and lead to some relationship problems later on.

And Yang's mother is also maiden, think about how powerful she is when we saw her, and would explain why she suddenly dissappeared. So i am already make the prediction on this, Yang is going to spring, Ruby is Summer (her mother), Weiss is Winter, and Blake is going to be Fall

No reason to assume that they would have to remain virgins. That would probably be a complication they'd let Pyrrha know about right away. (especially to toy with those like me who sail the good ship Arkos)

With all of the worries they seem to have with artificially giving Pyrrha the Fall Maiden's aura, I'm thinking they might have a problem (or she says no), and be forced to find someone else.

And Blake kinda works for Fall: Dark, quiet, and mysterious

Mercury was definitely in on the plan of using the illusion to make yang assault him, causing a ********* to help push cinder's plan along. But he figured she'd knock him out, or something, not shatter his kneecap

he has held his ground in 1v1 fight againts all of the rwby members and actually managed to push back cat ears mcwoman for a good while. then he held his own in 2v1 againts blake and sun with only medium difficulty.

also as far as i have seen from romans attidute, everything has so far been going according to their plans...

im not saying he's incompetent. but that he doesn't seem the type to fight in battles, more like the type who uses his brain to manipulate and persuade people into not fighting him or doing as he wants

You need to remember that this is end-game for Cinder. She got her use out of Roman then she had him "captured" by Emerald/Merc. Whos to say that she just isn't done with Merc and dosnt give a damn if he is crippled or not.
