Watch the next two episodes at least. episode 8 is where it really all comes together in an incredible action scene, and you see the kind of potential the series has and what the producers and writers are working towards.
Teenagers with Deadly Weapons that turn into Guns fighting horrifying monsters, magic stealing criminals, and Animal-Human Hybrids in epic fight scenes with glorious particle effects, and voiced by a bunch of internet sensation nitwits.
Honestly I had trouble with the animation up to that point. Season 2 animation is MUCH better. It even improves substantially later on in season 1 too.
"sell x to me"
lol no
If you like it, you like it. If you dont, you dont. Go by your own tastes, mayng. If you force yourself to watch something based on someone else's praises, odds are youll hate it even more since, you know, people have different tastes and ****
Animations get better in season 2, and they stop using blacked out background characters. But no, they kinda tone down the over-the-top reactions, but there's still a lot.
>someone sell RWBY to me.
>i've stopped at like the 6th episode
dude... the first season is like 1½ hour, second is like 2½ hours... we dont need to sell you **** , you've probably used the same amount of time just going to the toilet or doing random stuff, its not like its a big thing...
It sounds like you've already watched enough of it to form your own opinion. I however would describe RWBY with one word, Earnest. The bad guys are bad, the good guys are good. there's no sexual teasing like whats taking over most anime but there are romantic subplots. the story is straightforward if well thought out. outfits are on point to say the least. But the main draw is the fight choreography and just how much fun it is to watch these girls wail on each other. If that doesn't do it for you find something else.
That's what I appreciate about it. Rooster teeth just wants to have fun and share the fun. RWBY is not a serious cartoon/anime, it has it's moments but for the most part you are supposed to be in awe at the combat and laugh and the jokes. At least that's how I view it. You laugh at Zwei and dog physics, get pumped and the awesome fights, and then look at the screen weird as you remember that everything, including hoverboards, in the universe is a gun.
I did a lot of it biased on fallout's turn biased system where you get action points biased on your agility
but you also have stamina
so you could put everything on agility and dish everything out in 1 turn but wind up having to wait 3 turns because you got tired
Cue red thumbs I have to agree, it's trying so hard to ape <insert fantasy anime> and <insert sci-fi anime> that it just comes off as bland and spread too thin.
The over exaggerated anime reactions are just kinda dumb to me. The show has other problems, but take at least that away and it's a bit more enjoyable.
I actually have to agree. There are some parts of the show I love, now that doesn't make it great it's just stuff I enjoy. And the show has some truly good features, but there is sort of a joking theme that it wants to be an anime. It get's to the point where I'm not certain whether they are trying more to be melodramatic, or to make me laugh at the silly physics of their universe.
oh ye fun fact, if what Nora said about her ability to bench was true she can bench press 590 pounds.
and monty said it the best "the best romance is earned"
it may be trash, but its high quality trash. premium trash. Grade A trash. The kind of trash your mom would look at and say "should this be recycling?"
A character of mine has a magical potato dagger, that gives +1 to damage and if eaten will magically reapear the next day. He's also a cultist for the potato god, who may or may not actually exist.
