God it's been a long time since I've even commented on anything, but in Monty's memory I'll give you best review/recommendation I can.

OK, to start off it is a web-series so episodes usually only last between 6-10 minutes, with some of the longer ones pushing 15. However, to me, it's surprising how much the plot actually moves during such short episodes; I mean in 2 or 3 eight minute episodes the plot goes further then some other animes go in a full hour. Now all of this being said, it is very plot focused, that is to say, there's not a whole lot of random "social"/fun/ **** around episodes, not meaning that there aren't those moments, but when they do happen it's usually part of the plot or furthers it along or becomes relevant later.

As far a content goes I'd give it a solid B-.

The voice acting is mainly done by members of the Roosterteeth staff, with some other voice-actors. It is weak at certain points, mostly when there isn't much happening, but it does hold up during more emotional moments and during fight scenes.

Speaking of fight scenes, this is where the series truly shines. The choreography and animations during these scenes is pretty ******* awesome honestly. I can't begin to count the number of times I've re-watched 10 seconds of certain fight scenes. I will say though if your going to watch just for the fights, you might need to wait until about midway through the first season (about an hour, hour and a half) before, at least in my opinion, you really see the best the show has to offer.

OK in terms of plot; It's an OK plot, i wouldn't call the plot the highlight of the series, y'know it's kinda the same evil bad guys, gotta stop their plans. However it has some really nice, cute, fun moments in it, and a verity of ones that have made me laugh or just smile throughout the episode. Personally I think the plot is going to start picking up next season, just judging on the cliffhangers at the end of this one. I think what really backs up the plot is the setting. It's pretty neat; there's a lot to it, though I don't think nearly enough of it has been described (kinda just what's required for the plot to progress), and it's a pretty neat Semi-modern fantasy setting.

And my last point is the animation; The animation in fights is great but outside of that it is OK; as far as I'm aware of it's motion captured but there are some times where it can be a bit clippy with the environment and there are a couple particular episodes where the animation kinda falls flat, but this mostly happens with certain longer episodes or episodes where fight scenes are fairly lengthy, and you can tell the animators were having some trouble meeting the deadline, lucky there is only a handful of moments that really bug me.

(OK final paragraph, I promise), Overall I think RWBY is a very nice anime, does it hold up to other's made by huge company's...actually it kinda does in the certain aspects I listed above, for a company that's pushing new ground for both American anime along with work done by the company itself, I'd say it's pretty good and at least worth checking out.

TL;DR, It's a good, lighthearted, fun anime; if your looking strictly for perfect animation made by a huge company it might not be for you. But if your looking for something that has some cool, fun content, check it out.
