Really I'm only there for the action...which should be relatively easy to animate seeing as how it's in 3D and the shaders look like they take care of themselves.
**vashford used "*roll picture*"** **vashford rolled image** I couldn't stand even two episodes. It was like a 15-16 yr old weaboo girl conceived the entire premise for the show and its plot.
From what I've seen, the RvB fight scenes are much better.
I feel like in RWBY, the hits really don't seem like they have any weight to them. Everyone that isn't a background character just gets back up, unscratched, and even the background characters don't really seem like they get injured. It just feels like every hit puts them to sleep.
All characters in RWBY have what's called an Aura, a magical force field powered by their soul. Stronger, more determined warriors will have a much stronger Aura.
In sparring and tournament matches they track fighters Auras via healthbars displayed on a large monitor to make sure nobody dies by accident.
If you're hit the way they hit things and you're out of juice, you're ****** . However plot armor arguably pretty terrible plot armor usually stops this from happening to pretty much everyone who's not a villain.

Out of all the bizarre, arbitrary ********* I've seen people build their animus around, that is the golden ******* raspberry.
True, but I didn't mean wildest. I meant lamest. Like you said, the biggest way something like that could add is extremely strong and flexible plot armor, kinda like Guts' Berserker armor, but even dumber and less imaginative.
It's weird, it looks like it's being made on a bargain budget and yet has fight scenes that are amazing(sometimes, I will not act like they're all amazing and beautiful works of art.). The story is VERY predictable and sometimes very frustrating, especially if you're not a big fan of the cast like I am. Soundtrack ranges from good to forgettable...Its a mixed bag mess. I would appreciate it more if it were more of a parody of the tropes rather than going along with the tropes. Sometimes it does that but...as you said it can be very cringey at times.
I'm not a fan, but I can completely understand why someone would like it.
