You kidding? I take a sick day to celebrate Kristallnacht!
User avatar #31 - imakejewburgers (10/09/2012) [-]
To tell you the truth, I really don't care. It got me a day out of school.

Dude, they had their land taken like every other god damn civilization that has ever existed. Get the **** over it.

Are you suggesting that people shouldn't have a day off? If so, you sir, are a dick.
User avatar #59 - hatemountain (01/27/2013) [-]
We don't even ******* celebrate. The only thing most of us really celebrate is our own birthdays. All these holidays are just excuses to not be in school or work for a couple of days.

Don't get me wrong, I like not being in school or at work, but we could at least be honest and say " **** it, today is a good day for the entire nation to get drunk, **** work!" .

I don't know about other schools, but we most definitely learned this.
User avatar #48 - chaosandmadness (10/09/2012) [-]
in fact I'm in school right now.

They actually teach us that in school.

Maybe because I'm in Canada.

Geez people. You know what genocide is? Talk to the american indians. Yes, the ones from north america. Compare the number of native people in south america to the number of native people in north america. Oh **** ****** . Maybe bringing some culture to these people (not saying it was good at all, but we spaniards don't complain at muslims allt ime for them invading us for centuries.) was way more sane than killing all the indians from the north of america.

But of course im going to be terribly wrong because reasons.

BTW, get your **** straight faggot. Columbus discovered america to europe and Americo Vespucci documented it.

eso es exactamente lo que pienso yo
that´s exactly what i think, we don´t blame the Romans for killed a lot of iberians or the muslims for conquered almost all the Peninsula, it´s just history, and they made our culture richer, that´s my point.
in fact i´m from canary islands, that were conquered by spain, and i don´t feel rave for that.

Maybe Hitler is a bit of an exaggeration, but it's pretty close considering the whole genocide thing.
Maybe Cortez would be a better analogy but not everyone knows who he was.
User avatar #50 - corundum (10/09/2012) [-]
No, because nobody ever went to school. Jackass.

Oh boy! I'm so glad that you pay attention in your history class! Clearly you didn't copy paste this from the dozens of places this message has been passed around. How about you kindly stick the barrel of a shotgun in your mouth and do us a favor. ******* faggot.

Was home schooled, and taught this from a young age.
I was actually shocked when I later found out school kids are still taught that he "discovered" the "Indians" when he was the "first" European to come to America, but even if we ignore all of that, we can't ignore what OP pointed out.
I never celebrate Columbus day, because **** him.
