Well, why can a person post a Doctor Who or an Avatar reaction pic but not post ponies? It's just a show that the commenter like.

because the doctor who and avatar pictures have either been used for years or its not a rehash of a picture someone has, or most likely has, and if they dont have they can google in a matter of moments. there are THOUSANDS of "i see what you did there" pictures, the pony was unnecessary. thats like going into a church and throwing the works of darwin at the preacher while yelling "THE POWER OF SCIENCE COMPELS YOU"

No it isn't. It's just joining what you like to what you want to express, it doesn't matter if YOU like the show or not. Besides, if you don't like it, simply don't watch it. I can't understand how can someone HATE a show. I don't like Two and a Half Men, but I don't hate it.

youre acting like i hate the show, i dont, i simply gave an answer to a question, rhetorical or otherwise. im not a fan of it but honestly if someone posts a pony picture on a site whos notorious for hating the show, while i dont care if bronies are out there or if they want to post pictures its not unprecidented to post a pony picture in a non pony thread and get red thumbs, whereas posting avatar or doctor who the shows are much older and have been around as long or longer than most memes making them less likely to be thumbed down because in some cases they are originals of their kind and something spawned from there.

ill cite my church example. you go into a place knowing full well many people dont like something or hate it especially when you throw it out there for no reason other than to make it known that you like something they dont. other than "i like ponies" youre flaunting your fandom and its pointless and stupid. i dont go around hating on someone just because they like something, but nor do i go onto random posts and flaunt what i enjoy without reason knowing that it could and probably will annoy people.

I think that how old the show is is irrelevant. The legend of Korra has only 5 episodes and fj is filled with Korra posts. Even if it's a sequel, it's a new show. What I don't understand is how people who don't watch Doctor Who don't hate it, and people who don't watch My Little Pony hate it. It's like christians hatting jews but not hatting buddhists.

simple answers are, age is irrelevant in most cases but it causes other things to take presidence old then new, and new is MLP which already does have a large group of those who hate it. but avatar is a well beloved show and its not considered feminine or childish to watch, while in the eyes of many mlp is, and with doctor who its because its not horribly well known and what is known of it by those who dont watch it is that its british which isnt really a reason to hate it.

best i can say is that i never said it was rational. its just the nature of the beast so to say, fj as a whole hates ponies, solely because there are fewer bronies than there are haters and even moreso even some bronies hates bronies. its the new furries. best you can do is ignore it all, the irrational lovers and haters and ignore the fandom/anti-fandom as a whole, enjoy it or dont enjoy it just let them each be their own thing. same goes for everything
