What if the private who pulled the pin on the grenade was actually a spy who was sent to get rid of all their ammo?

That's... That's absolutely nothing to celebrate about.

That's 33 million dollars (in today's time), gone.
33 million dollars paid by the tax payers of that time.

Why?

Vietcong ambush out of fuckin' nowhere.

[sarcasm] So that's how we lost the Vietnam War, some idiot went and blew up all our ammo. [/sarcasm]

This is completely fake. First off, no soldier in a war zone would blow up and waste the fucking ammunition that his LIFE and other lives depends on. Second, doing so would be insanely dangerous and would result in many casualties. Those shells and bombs aren't just big fireworks they're designed to throw out huge and deadly concussion blasts and thousands of pieces of red hot shrapnel traveling at around 3,000 feet per second. So either that marine was a fucking dumb ass who got away with almost killing everyone at his base, or OP is a lying faggot.

True Story?

Allied ammunition dumps have been required to have at least 3 guards on duty at all times. This has been since early 1945...

You really think they would leave millions of dollars of shit just un-watched?

Great joke, do not lie and say it was a true story though.
