X-Box 360 vs N64

actually i had a ds right through primary school in p.5 to now (year 10) and it has only stopped working recently and i dropped it probably literately hundreds of times, its in a pretty bad state, part of it is melted some how i don't even know how that happened... gif unrelated i just love it...

That and, of the three popular consoles out right now, the Wii has the lowest failure rate. Of course it's technological ability does play into it, but still.

Are you sure about this? I've fixed a lot of 360's with the 3 rrod problem and all were down to the poorly designed X-clamps, no thermal paste ever found. I normally used the thermal paste as a quick fix because it eventually dissolves into the GPU and permanently damages it.

the X clamps are the "underdog" problem, i've never found the issue to be a problem but i have heard of it. as far as the thermal paste goes, if you use too much it will damage the Gpu, you just pant to put a REALLY thin layer on

Yep, my ps3 got the motherfucking ylod and i just opened it and put some thermal paste on the cpu and it works like always.

so do the Wii and Gamecube, but they're both incredibly reliable. The reason the 360 breaks so often is usually the misplaced heatsink, rather than actual blunt force trauma.

It's not limited to the Xbox. I went through like 5 PS2's.
I think the last two Nintendo consoles have just lasted so long because they don't have to work as hard. I assume it's a lot easier on the system if you're playing platformers and low graphics 3D games. Though I doubt you're be able to dust off your Wii and play it 10 years from now, dust will inevitably screw up the lens if nothing else breaks it. Nothing lasts like cartridges.

Nintendo makes good shit.
Think about it.
The PS2 and the game cube were released at about the same time.
My family had both.
We went through like 4 or 5 PS2's, and that was my dad's system, us kids had to get special permission to use it.
The game cube was our system. We dropped it, kicked it, left it out and tripped over it, and that thing never died.

the gamecube has got more processing power than the PS2. not that it matters to me personally, it's just to refute your argument. just look at RE4 on both systems!

Xbox 360 has a poor cooling system and soilder that breaks after being reheated. Combine these two and you get the red rings of death. Nintendo's shit is made to last out an atomic winter, some of Sony's stuff as well

My brother and I got one for Christmas in 2003. We played it like crazy until 2008 when it randomly broke and wouldn't play any games. Then about a year ago, it started working again. Haven't had a problem with it since.

I was playing star wars on that. I accidentally pulled the pad when I died and I pulled the leads out the back and the ps2 of the high-ish shelf it was on. The game broke in half but everything else worked fine. I still have it now

I think i broke more controllers with this console then the console itself....I did drop a few times and the CD Tray lid broke off...stopped working later after I think went through 5 controllers cussing at games that i couldn't beat.

I was dancing around my dad's living room like a boss, but he just mopped the floor, so it was slippy, I fell with my left knee facing the wall, but this bastard was chilling there, I flew into the ps2 knee first and split my knee open, have a lil scar on my knee from it.

I inherited my uncles' NES, i'm 17, the controllers buttons may be worn down. But the NES.. stil works like a fucking charm, and i love it..
