Honestly this is just my opinion, but i don't think this is normal and i believe that those people should go to some sort of counseling to move on in their lives.

I'm a bit confused. Grown ass adults dress up as characters from all sorts of things, but it only seems that the brony fandom gets flack for it.

And before anyone says "My Little Pony is a kid's show", plenty of people dress up as characters from shows like Avatar, both The Last Airbender and Legend of Korra, Adventure Time, etc. Are they frowned upon? No, they're usually viewed in a positive light.

Now, the two men in the post aren't exactly the best example of the community, but it's not like they're horrible, disgusting human beings. They're just taking part in something they enjoy. Some time ago there was a post about a guy who had a HUGE collection of something or other that I can't remember right now. That post defended him saying that he had found a hobby that he loved and he had the money to enjoy it. So, why are these two fellows who have found something they genuinely enjoy and are taking part in viewed as creepy and disturbing?

Long story short, you shouldn't judge people based on this one aspect. If they devoted their entire life to the fandom, that's another thing entirely. From what we see here, though, we can't make that judgement. Seriously, just let them enjoy their fandom.

Jesus man, it's a hobby, not a lifestyle. Not every brony is some fat/scrawny greasy dweeb who's insanely socially awkward. Besides, I doubt most of you gamers (or whatever hobby you may have) are the personification of attractiveness itself.

I'm a brony, but can't the other bronies start to act like normal ******* people?

I love the show, and the fandom.
But it does seem to attract a lot of creepy betas.

If it makes you feel any better, this is exactly what I picture the average funnyjunk goer to look like.

...it's a photo of two fans of the show holding toy figures of a couple of characters. They're not in ridiculous costume, they're not screaming or flailing about the fandom, or otherwise doing anything embarrassing. How the hell are they acting " ******* insane"?

I mean, I'm an adult fan of the show, and so is my husband, and we don't own any merchandise. But, it's not like we berate people who do...

Man, if that is what most bronies look like, then I'm going to be very, very sexy at the convention this summer.
