The show was designed for kids, specifically girls. If you were in elementary school and were a boy, and your friends found out that you watch this show, you would be ridiculed beyond belief. You would be made fun of like crazy, and that's at an appropriate age.

The fact that teenagers (and sometimes guys in their 20s) like a show for prepubescent girls is not only weird, it's down right insane.

Since I am Anon and will get lost in post I will do this anyways because of reasons I a 21 year old Hispanic male loves this show I love almost all cartoons in general. Why some may ask well I just tell them I'm an animator going to an Art Institute and it is important to me that I keep up to date on all things animated Including MLPFM
Reason I like: 1st off all of the characters have been effectively developed and each one is unique, 2nd the show (compared to most children shows) is very intelligent not pandering to its audience like Angelina Ballerina and Strawberry Shortcake plus many references to things kids just wouldn't get (someone spiked the punch) .And My most favorite one for last the quality of the production of the show is just phenomenal the voice actors are great, the style and character design are amazing and it is all done in flash (so I'm told) and that's my two cents about the matter.

I was made fun of for a lot of things growing up, but i was never made fun of for liking a show, and when i was i just ignored it. I don't think it is odd to enjoy anything that you peronally like. I enjoy shows like sponge bob and that is made for kids, and i am in my 20's. I also like Yugioh and other cartoon as well as animes. People really need to just learn to stop fucking making fun of each other and let you like what you like. I was also made fun of for having a bike that actually fit me in school. instead of a tiny little bike that my knees went over the handle bars when i rode.
