Eh. Unfortunately my philosophy of "The biggest insult to an artist is to tell them their work is good when it isn't" got me kicked out of many finger painting classes. Ahh Esperanto! The only reason I still believe my classes in Latin isn't a COMPLETE waste of time.
pesronally i'd say the biggest insult to an artist is to tell them exactly what you think of their work. three black dots on a white canvas? tell'em it doesnt represent life, its just three black dots on a white canvas. really rustles their jimmies. and you took latin classes? i must admit im a little jealous, you can understand all those damn fancy mottos places have while us regular folk are left in the dark.
Very close! De gustibus non est disputandem: In matters of taste, there is no dispute. Qui audet adipiscitur: Who dares, wins!
Heh. I still ask myself: "How on Earth did I manage to get in Oxford?". I had absolutely dreadful grades at school but they wanted me in anyway. Managed to scrape a first though (yes!). Continuing my research in Caltech in a few years thanks to that episode, praise the lord! I get to see the Sun!

thread limit hit, moving back! i dont think i'll ever try Bach's Art of Fugue Contrapunctus 1, or play the noseflute, drunk or otherwise. bagpipes and tenor saxophone are enough musicality for my lifetime, especially when played high. fun stuff that is, Scotland the Blazed.
well, i really like the Okanagan valley area, the class sizes are generally smaller, its a smaller community so you can get to actually know more people, and i heard from a guy i know there that the 420 club is outstanding. then again, Vancouver would be closer to home for me. really i have no idea, but the universities that i've so far decided to apply to are UVic, SFU and UBC. campuses and/or other uni's are decisions this procrastinator will save for later
well, a little off topic, but even interrogating the homeless can't stack up to downtown Vancouver on 420. if you find yourself out here that day some year, be sure to head to the art gallery. but yeah looking at Oxford's website, i can sorta understand why there'd be no official 420 club. little sophisticated for that, isn't it?
You could say that. We were always very....traditional. Consequence of that is we add a twist to pretty much everything we do. eg. downing a pint while attempting to play Bach's Art of Fugue Contrapunctus 1 on a nose flute (pro tip: if you play the second melody, you WILL throw up)
