It is preferable to watch the first and second episodes first though, the main characters and their traits are introduced, it sets things up for a new watcher. But yeah I agree, the next episodes are better. And in my opinion the season 1 has definitely the best songs of the show ! (though the last song "Babs Seed" from the season 3 astonished me !)

Yes, the first two episodes aren't really that good though, and are nothing like the rest of the show, so if you don't like those then still try the third episode.
