Thank you kindly. He's been playing the figures for longer than I know, he's trying to get me to try it, not sure how to even start. He tagged me more as a Space Wolves type. Not sure where to really start with it. I got him into playing MTG, even helped him build a few decks. He's a slow learner, but hes getting it. Sorry I can't really offer much in return....

naw its ok. i played Space Marines too, my chapter was the Black Templars. i have heard they changes some rules and/or codexs a little (i havent played for years) but what i remember the Black Templars are pretty simple and i did fairly good with them. ask your friend if he thinks they would be good for you too.

I was over at his place a couple days ago to help him fix his deck and to test one I had speed built in the morning, before we did that though he showed me the history of some of the groups. Blood Angels, Space Wolves, and the Necrons. But I'll be sure to ask him about the Black Templars when we hang out again. And I have no idea about the rules, when I play it'll be my first time ever.

not bad. ooooooh Necrons....i hate them fuckers! first time i played against them i had no idea they have a chance to come back after "killing" them. i remember killing 3/4 of a squad of them and all but 2 or 3 came back. MFW. and that was the moment i knew i was royally fucked. BT's are good at shooting and are a bit better at close combat (they have characters and abilities) so they are (what i found to be) a good starter unit.

I've seen a lot of the models that people paint, and they look fantastic. The shop I go to and play magic has a lot of Warhammer stuff, so it might actually be worth a shot to check it out. And the reason I thought I would be Necron is because when I play MTG, I'll always have some way to get creatures, whether mine or my opponents, from the graveyard. Recursion is a funny thing, whatever you kill never really stays dead for long.

yeah the painting jobs are amazing!!! i could never do something like that, i would just spray paint mine black and just say "they are black templars" and then start the game lol yeah recursion is funny like that, but i do enjoy sending them back where they came from lol :P

I don't know how much you know about MTG, but it gets funny when you just kill your opponents creature and then steal them. I don't run a lot of graveyard hate, but its because I have a creature that brings creatures from any graveyard to my field. Its quite funny.

lol i bet :P never bin the one for that magic/spells stuff, im more of a guy to run into stuff swinging my sword in the air. its usually my character in any RPG's lol

Theres a lot of different player types for magic. I stick to only a couple though. And the sword thing reminds me I still need to talk to my friend about sharpening my sword. It has a carbon steel blade, so there might be a spot of trouble.

And hell, it you have netflix, its on there too. I do highly recommend playing them though. They are fun as hell. The games go in order, but the story line goes 3, 1, 2 , 4. $ is only on the ps3 and I believe 360. They made a bundle pack for the 360 for the original 3 games. The first three only released for the ps2 far as I'm aware.

No problem. The actual anime itself, takes place around the second game I think. theres a lot of things hinting to when it takes place, but never really saying when it happens. My friend and I tried pretty hard to determine the timeline of the anime, but to no avail.

ah that sucks, but when you figure it out make sure you tell me lol :P

The best I came up with, is that it takes place just after the second game ends. I won't reveal any spoilers. But I recommend playing 1 though 3 first, though the second game is annoying. Its an okay hack and slash, but its not really DMC. The storyline is just weird. That, and its two discs. But if you're a fast player and quick problem solver, you shouldn't have a problem.
