I actually have a decent idea of where to begin on an Appledash fic. The main dilemma which prevents me from writing it, other than finding time, is deciding whether I want to tell some long, drawn out story involving the other ponies or just cut to the chase and have 3-4 chapters of relationship development.
Which one should I go with?
I also have to figure out which ending I want to go with. I just realized that one of the endings I was thinking of would not technically make the fic a ship fic. Looks like that problem is solved...

Well, if it's your first ship fic, then it might be a good idea to make it just a few chapters, so you can gain a better feel and a bit more experience writing fics, and be more prepared for writing more longer ones in the future. But I've never written a fanfic before, so I'm not sure my advice is all that helpful.
Actually, that sounds like a good idea. Plus, it means that I will not have to worry about dedicating more time than I have to a super long story that I might never get around to finishing without enough experience to make it worth writing. So, yeah, I think I'll go with a short ship fic. Thanks, saiyajin!
