This is something I don't really like about the brony community on FJ. First, I want to say that I do love MLP, and I have watched every episode. However, I don't consider myself a brony because of how I see FJ's brony community. I simply don't fit in, but I love the show.
MLP content on FJ lacks originality. it's usually a fanart consisting of a pop culture reference, ponified. The art is usually good (but sometimes it's rather horrible; some FJer saying "I drew this! please don't judge me too harshly...") but it's simply not funny. It actually makes people feel like bronies are trying to ponify everything - which is fuel for the haters. Sure some haters hate because they just hate to see people enjoy things, but some of them hate because of exactly this. Other times the posts have a joke, which is good for FJ, but they have absolutely nothing to do with ponies. It's like, the creator could have told the joke with regular human characters instead of ponies (like a knock-knock joke). And this also elicits the same kind of feeling that bronies are ponifying everything.
It's okay that these artworks exist. They are usually well drawn. But it's not okay that they're on FJ, where it really doesn't belong. Even bronies know that some posts are thumbed up for simply having ponies in it.
Bendingtime posts are similar, but I tolerate them more. This is because most (but not all) of bendingtime posts at least try to be funny and interesting. And if not that, they try to be cool, because the show is active and has fighting. But ponytime posts usually just try to be cute, or say "OMG did you SEE that in the show?? I LOVE Pinkie Pie!!!" And that's what makes us MLP lovers look like idiots. That on top of the fact that Avatar is in season, yet its posts are moderate. When MLP is in season, FJ is flooded with MLP posts; some funny and great, but most not.
Sorry for the rant but this needs to be explained to bronies. I think will post this comment again in the future.

Finally, someone agrees!
I like the show, but would never describe myself as a "brony". For the sake of time (not wanting to explain it to everyone), yes, I may say I am. But deep down, I don't see myself like all you people. I don't go outta my way to look at MLP centered things, but I won't instantly skip/red thumb them either.
Pretty much the same applies to Avatar.

wow that's a much nicer response that I was expecting.
I'm sorry, I guess in all this frustration I forgot the best part about the brony community. Most of them are at least nice about things :) thank you. I'm sorry to have insulted your content. I know it's a sucky feeling
