The point that has been missed here is that no-one, apart from Balin's Company even dared to approach Moria. The name means 'Black Chasm' and people may not have associated the name with evil but they certainly associated it with danger. That's why Moria lay in utter darkness for so long.

My point is that the riddle was stupid and easy for any elvish speaking person.

Elves, and usually people who spoke Sindarin, abandoned Eregion after Sauron's forces ransacked the region. You're also forgetting that the inscription was carved of Ithildin and could only be visible by starlight/moonlight.

Take all that away and what do you have? A EASY RIDDLE.

Okay, okay, don't get all butthurt. The riddle itself was fairly easy yes, but only if you knew that the password was the Elvish word for friend. As the password was lost, you would not have known that just because you could speak Elvish. You would have done what Gandalf did and tried various spells/incantations.
