Saw the first episode of the first season when everyone was first going apeshit over the show. Didn't see the flare.
Then I get told the Pilot Episode is always bad but everything else is better. Watched 2 more episodes. Nope.
End up reading this fanfic that bronies went apeshit over at the time... This.. "Cupcakes" that's apparently what they call "Grimdark", or what's supposed to be a horror fanfic...
Mediocore. To the extreme.
Finish watching the first season because I ended up on an assumption that somewhere in this first season is the greatest porn ever seen for people to be so overtly dedicated to it.
Nope. Still not a single flare.
I tell this story because I'm getting tired of hearing people saying MLP:FiM is this amazing show that once you actually sit down and watch, you'll get sucked right in.
There was really nothing special about the animation or writing, two things that are constantly praised about it, from what I'd seen.
But that's probably just my opinion.
TL;DR Witnessed a gigantic portion of MLP:FiM with unbiased opinion, and saw nothing as good as what was being rumored to be.

Watched 10 episodes, didn't get addicted.
It's just a generic kids show with cliché characters and a shallow moral code and honestly don't really get why it's so loved by such an old audience, not because it looks "gay" or "kiddy" but because it really is to simplistic.

mofalcon (08/31/2012) [-] i watched two episodes of that show. lols all over the placed for the entire 40 minute span of it, then decided i liked what it stood for in relation to better children's television, but i could not myself get into it. Though i did repeatedly tell this one guy who hates bronies that applejack was my favorite for about three months after.
