There's just a couple things I noticed: you made SPaG mistakes, told instead of showed, a couple people seemed OOC, and it was stereotypical. Not to say it was garbage or anything; it just needs another rewrite or two. You should also try reading some of Limyaael's fantasy rants, specifically the ones about characterisation, author's darlings, and tragic pasts. Last but not least, don't get discouraged! Write as much as you can, and get as much feedback as you can about what is and isn't working.
