No, he will end up in a mental facility. I dont know the specific laws of incompetency in Colorado but what I know of CA law you dont even want to know.

The insanity defense, in the very few cases it has actually worked, all of which were petty crimes in comparison to this, Has never once gotten someone off scot free. They end up in an institution for a very, very long time, which only really differs from a regular prison in that the walls are padded and you can be 100% sure that somewhere, someone there wants to eat your brains for the glory of great satan. Any sane person would prefer prison over a psych ward.
