therulethirtyfour (02/09/2012) [-] I've watched three episodes and thought it was a cute show. I haven't watched any since because it's not my cup of tea, but the animation is quite good. It's geared towards little girls, but it's also made by the creator of the Powerpuff Girls (another show geared towards little girls but is awesome) and has a sense of humor that connects with some. There are a lot of characters and bright colors, and good moral lessons in their episodes.
That being said, many of those qualities are what cause the backlash of pony-haters. It all comes down to personal taste. I suggest watching an episode or two and making your own decision. The drama that the hardcore fabulous fillies and pony-haters create is ridiculous, so please, either way you choose don't be a Lamar Smith to either group.
