I don't really see Discord as a villain. He's more like a gremlin. He just causes mischief.

Yeah, he sort of just does whatever he wants to do to entertain himself, never really doing anything dubbed "villainous" like world domination or assaulting important figures.

So would he be Chaotic Neutral, Chaotic Evil or Chaotic Chaotic?
User avatar #5 to #4 - bloodyfox **User deleted account** (04/26/2012) [-]
Chaotic Chaotic I would think. Assuming I remember the proper definitions for those alignments.

I'm fairly certain "chaotic chaotic" isn't an alignment for D&D.

Wait, what?
That stuff comes from Dungeons and Dragons?
User avatar #46 to #38 - taternutz (04/26/2012) [-]
Near as I can tell, I'm pretty sure the alignment system started with D&D.

I have no idea if other systems of play use it or not.

I was told that it isn't an official alignment, but some DMs will allow it.
User avatar #28 to #26 - taternutz (04/26/2012) [-]
I'm not sure what it would entail. All I can think it would be is the equivalent of Chaotic Neutral.

Someone who isn't good or evil. Just chaotic.

Maybe I am thinking of chaotic neutral. They just do whatever the hell they want whether it benefits the party or not? I haven't played much and it's been about 6-7 months since I last played.
User avatar #31 to #29 - taternutz (04/26/2012) [-]
Pretty much. Here's the D&D SRD entry for it.

"A chaotic neutral character follows his whims. He is an individualist first and last. He values his own liberty but doesn’t strive to protect others’ freedom. He avoids authority, resents restrictions, and challenges traditions. A chaotic neutral character does not intentionally disrupt organizations as part of a campaign of anarchy. To do so, he would have to be motivated either by good (and a desire to liberate others) or evil (and a desire to make those different from himself suffer)"

That's what I was thinking of. That entry is a bit confusing since it says "He values his own liberty but doesn’t strive to protect others’ freedom." but then goes on to say "(and a desire to liberate others) ". I don't understand whether he does or doesn't liberate others.

Nevermind. I misunderstood this part "He values his own liberty but doesn’t strive to protect others’ freedom."

My knowledge about D&D isn't too great.

I wonder what would happen if Discord, Pinkie Pie and Sheogorath threw a party together.
