Its a 30 caliber. The weapon was designed (as the dipshit below has mentioned) by an American inmate. It is actually a gas powered weapon and has a rotating bolt (much like the M1 Garand) This gun was intended for use by non-coms or other combatants that were not immediately on the front line, artillery men, M.P.s ex. the bullet is much like a pistol, but the case is longer such as a rifle. In the end they had a light weight weapon that had an effective range of (in my experience) up to 150 yard and was less of a burden on solders not directly in the line of fire. Later on though, many combatants saw the advantage of a light weight weapon, especially in the jungles of the pacific and cities of Europe, and officers often opted for this light carbine. That is an Auto Ordinance hi quality folding stock sir. I decided to go for this set up for the lighter weight, pistol grip, and if needed, a folding stock. This, in my opinion, makes it an ideal home personal defense weapon. Since this picture I have also added a fore grip. I assure you fantomen that nothing on this weapon is cheap, for that fact would discourage the purpose of defending myself.
