So this is mostly meant to be funny but it's also kinda making fun of "bronies", as in the problematic ones. The adults who ironically miss the entire message of the show to be kind to people and chase little girls out of the movie theater when they want to see Equestria Girls because they can't "understand it". Why they feel so entitled over a little kids show is beyond me.
I actually enjoy the show and I think it's fantastic that it can cater to it's target audience while still entertaining other age groups and genders, but "bronies" are ridiculous.
The guy at the very beginning of the video is a friend of mine and he actually wears that jacket and beanie every day he loves the show so much but he refuses to call himself a brony because that term has been so muddled down.
So to clarify: If you enjoy the show that's cool, I enjoy the show myself, as long as you don't act like some elitist and disrespect other people and try to claim the target audience is actually you and not for little girls then you're 100% fine regardless of age, gender, or whatever else. This is a cute show and the community should be trying to teach the same messages as the show.

Also you can really see how I feel about Rainbow Dash from this.

"Guys who chase little girls out of the movie theater to watch Equestria Girls because they couldn't understand it."
You're acting like there's some noticeable conflict between the demographics. For both EQG one and two I went to the theaters and there was a good half-n-half ratio of adult guys and families with little children. (both genders, ages 3-15) There was no awkwardness, and everyone enjoyed the movie like they properly should.

It's funny how people address MLP (the current iteration, not talking about the previous generations) as it being solely marketed to the little girls and having adult fans as a fluke, when the person put in charge of making the MLP popular today intended it to be for "all ages and all genders; a family show." but because of previous marketing and brand recognition, was advertised as a kid's show. Regardless, there has been very little friction between the large spectrum of watchers and even today you can go to a ponycon and find kids enjoying themselves just as much as the guys.

But I'd argue that past Season 3 of MLP, they've definitely expanded the target demographic. And now it's getting rather blatant. Season 4 had many references to the fandom, and contained things that they knew fans would explode over, especially that jawdropping DBZ tier finale. An entire line of merchandise, and comic book series, have been made with the older audience intended. Equestria Girls and Rainbow Rocks seemed innocent enough, but there were a lot of things you knew were being used to gain the guy's attention. dem swinging siren hips Now, season 5? The Season Premiere is a commentary on the very controversial topic of equality. They also announced they're dedicating an entire EPISODE to the background characters the fans have named, nurtured, and given full generally agreed on backstories and personalities. Then, after that? EQG3? Motorcycles and action. After that, MLP the Movie. The money is flowing and the budget is soaring, and now they're bringing in top celebrities and even some FANS themselves to help produce this show at this point. So don't tell me that MLP is not being made to cater to the fans. The fans now have a lot more of a say in this than they did a few years ago, for better or worse.

> swinging siren hips
That's just part of the pubescent anthropic motions inserted into the film to convince little girls that they are looking at high school aged characters, and to convince people that these are human models. It's the subliminal messaging that only goes as far as the subconscious for most people.

You expectn't EQG3 to be any good, expect you? It's pic related.

What's the deal with getting fans to produce the show? Unless you're referring to the possibility of a limited license for Button's Adventures, this is the first I'm hearing of it.

You do know that the animators admitted that they intentionally made the sirens to be ' very sexy,' right? They said it would make the show more notable and fit the freaking amazing singing voices they got for them. I say it worked... too good. Especially when some of those Japanese artists caught on and started drawing them.

If their margin of improvement for Rainbow Rocks was anything to say, I think that it'll be spectacular. Girls on motorcycles? Sunset being up front and center this time and all in a tight motor suit? Dark crystal high school? Possible focus on heavy rock racing music or even Initial-D Eurobeat style? one of the top fandom musicians having that as his speciality Twilight going Nightmare mode? Oh my yes.

It's been going on for a while now, actually. Especially with the music, Danial Ingram has been hiring on some fandom musicians like Mandopony and Blackgryph0n to help with some of the background instrumentals and vocals. You might be able to spot some of them in this next season. You also have that crippled OC guy put into the Trade Ya episode. Even if it was a Make a Wish request, he's kind of tried to implement himself as much as possible to try and make his character make sense. And also in a recent convention, some of the writers admitted that even though they aren't technically "allowed" to read fanfiction for ideas, they said they're very "well versed in the fandom, and it's having an influence in our future episodes"

We also don't know who's going to do the voices for the many Background Ponies for the 100th episode special. Many fan voice actors like Nowhacking aren't responding on whether or not Hasbro hired them to voice some of them, which is entirely possible because we didn't know about Blackgryph0n doing anything until he tweeted that he was in the voice booth with Michelle Creber. Or they might be getting voice actors that at least imitate them very well because many fans want to hear a specific voice from those characters.

Bitch, please. The Japanese will make porn of anything. Even the yanks will make anything sexy.

>Stating that RR was an improvement
It wasn't much of an improvement. I only really respect the soundtrack.

>They might make rock/eurobeat music in the next one
I'll most likely enjoy it.

>A bunch of horse famous fan musicians being hired to do background and VA work
Sauce, please.

>Writers knowing about some of the more famous fanfics
Being "well versed" might just mean that they've heard things. Everyone knows about famous **** like Cupcakes and Fallout Equestria, even without reading them. Still, should the writers actually read fanfiction, there are likely to be few immediate consequences. From what I understand, they are supposed to avoid them for the purpose of dodging intellectual property infringement claims, which fanfiction authors are not likely to file. Some authors will squee uncontrollably that their ideas will have become canon, and others will get salty that someone else made a dollar on their ideas, but fic writers don't create something within an infrastructure of legal support. We can't rip off Hasbro, because they have lawyers, but they can rip us off because we haven't **** .

Besides, they can take ideas without ever really stealing story ideas. They could just take the fanon idea that there is a city called Stalliongrad, and do whatever with it. They could look at My Little Dashie and, without copying the plot, make some other feelsy backstory for Rainbow Dash to appeal to the fans' inclination to have a feel. Furthermore, I consider that Carthage must be destroyed.

Sorry for late reply, had to go somewhere

>Not thinking RR is an improvement
Pls. The fact they got rid of most of the high school element and fleshed out Sunset's character alone made it ten times more watchable. The soundtrack and the villains were what kept me watching. And by golly does it look good on the big screen. Especially that freaking intro.

Sauce for BG at DHX
www.horse-news.net/2014/12/twitter-explosion-blackgryphon-at-dhx.html (Not surprising since BG's been living with Applebloom's VA's family.)
Mandopony... well, pic related. (also not surprising as he's marrying one of the show staff now, who also has her OC in the show www.horse-news.net/2014/11/mando-and-sibsy-are-engaged-world.html ) Couldn't find the exact quote for Mando helping with the S3 background music, but it's in one of the Equestria LA interviews in late 2012.
Kid's Make a Wish request ends up with his OC on the show www.equestriadaily.com/2014/04/trade-yah-story-behind-wheel-chair-pony.html

And according to recent interviews, the writers hint that they know a LOT more than what people think. Heck, a couple of them might regularly lurk /mlp/ on 4chan Because they participated in a 4chan hosted competition called the 4chan Cup quite recently, MA Larson already having his own soccer scarf and jersey that commemorates that event. and keep up to date with a lot of fandom news. Obviously, you have the problem of copying things word for word, but there's only so much you can write without mimicking someone else's fanfic. But the fact that they admitted that in this Background Pony episode, several of them will be based on the established fanon, but to keep things fresh and mix it up, some others will be given entirely new personalities, makes it look like they've been doing their research on what we've been doing, and this upcoming season will tell how many references they're willing to make.

>Show staff taking a page out of some of /mlp/'s writefags
If they decide to do that for at least EQG, I'd be so freaking happy. Place has become a goldmine for some really good writers as of late. 90% of the Equestria Girls based stories are all about lifting up one or more characters from a hard place in life. like reforming the Sirens, in a really nice and believable way The feels would be flowing like crazy.

And yeah, Larson and Haber really like the 4CC. Larson does have a player named after him, after all And even Faust watches it. She's got a scarf and everything. Still waiting to order one for me. That german faggot better fix his paypal. But Faust has lurked 4chan a lot longer than any of the show staff, so it's also not surprising.

I remember hearing that Faust lurks /mlp/ as far back as seasons 1 and 2. I'll go with you that there are good writerfags on the board, but I never have the time to read anything more than a few posts. I still have a ******** of non-pony normal books that I wanna read, and my list only grows. Not the worst problem to have, I guess. Do the longfic writefags make ****** up **** , or do they read like well written novels?
#16 to #15 - brisineo (03/23/2015) [-]
Faust actually lurked /co/ long before and then made a public AMA on /mlp/ a while back. Lots of fans got salty over it, despite her being treated well over there. Was in that thread myself. /mlp/ was never the same after that day...

It really depends on the particular writefag you're looking at and on the writing prompt. If it's a lewd prompt, usually it's a long smutfic. Example prompt I saw with a longfic: You are Anon in the EQG world and you have the ability to posses anyone... Resulting fic ended up somewhere around 10,000 words, and from the glimpses I saw, Fluttershy got pregnant and AJ was a futa. But if it's a feelsy or innocent prompt, then usually they'll do something pretty spectacular with it. Considering they're legit getting tired of making smut out of anything and will really appreciate a good feel or cute story They really seem to respect the writefags for all they're worth though, and I've seen some pretty good stories there that lasted over 10 or so threads. And admittedly, and surprisingly, I'm among those ranks. Don't even know where it came from but I ended up making a long story about Sonata after EQG and it was good enough to have some drawfags get in the mix.

pastebin.com/5UMzzXmw knock yourself out. However, I think that the pauses between chapters were what really sold it. The reactions of 20 or so anons cursing me out in tears were golden on some of the tenser parts.

Bronies wouldn't be bronies if they weren't autistic social rejects.

You are a staunch retard if you think you can hold a load of people who worship a little girls cartoon show to adult moral standards.

The only reason I'm still in the fandom is because I enjoy the stuff the fans release. From the music to the art it's amazing how a simple show can bring a group of strangers together and let them open up to others without having to worry about being ridiculed.
