Generally I woud agree with this... but my parents are incredibly conservative and narrow minded. It's all either you like to play sports, watch porn and work out or your a disgrace to the family. It was stupid of me to say that... and that is exactly why I included the last line, but you have to understand not all of our friends/family/acquaintances are as understanding as most. And just so you get an understanding of what I'm referring to my mom is like the suburban soccer mom meme.

My parents aren't that strict, they are just narrow minded, one of those types of people that keep going on and on about how games ruin people computers are bad, blah blah blah. They keep preaching and making me go out more and do what the general population of my town does - spend 50% of the time on facebook and the other 50% drinking coffee downtown and gossiping

my family knows I like the show and are perfectly ok with it, but that doesn't mean it wasn't awkward when they found out.

before I told my dad I watched the show, I told him about bronies, his first response was that of disgust and "what are they? faggots!?"

when I told my brother, he was in complete shock and disbelief, but is now a regular watcher with me (same with my sister).

even my sociology teacher reacted with "are they pedophiles?"

whether or not people will hold watching MLP against someone is dependent on how open minded they are, but the initial reaction most people will give a viewer is surprise and disbelief, and that can quickly lead to judgmental behavior, which is what quite a few bronies are afraid of.

How did you achieve this? My dad would dis own me. My mom would call me gay. My teach for history would be " Hey, you could do ALOT worse stuff"

My familiy is FUCKING MAJOR on self right. So it would be alot better to say I'm gay than say I watch MLP. We only judge on stupid things, that is the major kicker.

I totally agree with you... I'm not an insane brony... sure I've read a couple of fan fics, and quite frankly I don't care what people do with their fan dom or your hate. But the thing that really gets my goat is when people start to push their ideologies onto other people who just want to enjoy themselves. I'm not just referring to haters but the extremist bronies. It's like one of those sci-fi evil organizations that want to purify the world of evil, but in doing so kill thousands of innocent and good people.
