It's not hard to not hate. I just try not giving a fuck. It allows me to not be bothered by a show that I don't watch or by the people who give a fuck what other people do.

I'll admit it used to be a huge challenge for me to not hate, however after I became a brony, I was a much more loving person, I guess you can say. I just apply empathy when I encounter people with different tastes and opinions. I wouldn't like it if people judged me for what I liked, or my opinions on things.

I used to live by the saying in Metallica's song "fight fire with fire", which is "do unto others as they've done to you", but MLP kinda took the hate away, you know?
(metallica remains my favorite band, however)

I don't suppose you've heard Headshot by MyChildrenMyBride? It's what most call "screamo", but it is about Halo. Something to consider, depending on your taste in music.
(I myself don't often listen to "screamo", just the old metal. But I can appreciate it.)

I love metal. But I hate metalCore. I like more progressive metal. Like some great bands are Opeth, Atreus, and Death. Bands like Bring me the Horizon and Asking Alexandria are just fucking awful.

I can agree with you there. Of course I don't prefer the modern stuff (I.e Asking Alexandria, BMTH), but I can tolerate it. The only music I can't stand to listen to is rap/pop (I call it Jungle Music). From what I see, alot of Jungle Music people are incompetent douchebags. It may seem like I'm contradicting myself, what with my previous statements of accepting people, but I've experienced their incompetence and doucheyness firsthand. I don't have anything to do with those kind of people, but they're still people that only want acceptance.

I'm not saying all people that listen to rap/pop are bad people. Just the ones I've encountered.
