I laughed more than I should have.

I like the show because of Twilight's sweet sweet ass

If you're talking about MLP:FiM (what the above comic is sourced from), then I watch it because its fun, and happy, and such a nice break from the crap in normal life. Its like a 30 min vacation. And, it can remind you of some lessons that you learned as a kid, but forgot while growing up. Now my answer probably doesn't fit EVERY brony, but that is why I watch the show.

And I enjoy it because it's cute, fun, and well made, and I very much enjoy the characters.

I really don' t know the name of the episode something about that blue rainbow pony getting upset because there was new masked hero on the scene.

Oh, that's mysterious mare do well.

That episode is regarded throughout the majority of the fandom as one of if not the worst episodes, just saying.

I don' t think I am going to watch it I was just curious why do you guys actually like it so much...

Right, i was just saying what the general view of that episode is, in case you formed any sort of opinion using that as your reference.

I can go on and on about why I like the show, btw. It's just been said to death already, you have no idea how often we're asked that question lol.

well give me long answer I like reading a lot

I like it basically because it gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside when i watch it. Most other TV shows i like use violence, murder and profanity to entertain me (crime dramas, comedy shows like South Park, Family Guy etc.) and i think it's nice to watch something where the usual enemy is the character the episode revolves around. I know there are adversaries (dragons, Nightmare Moon, Discord, Trixie etc.) but in the end it is the characters that must overcome themselves and learn to become better people ponies.

Now i know some other shows does this as well (can only think of How i met your mother of the top of my head and I'm not even sure if that counts) but MLP does it very well. The framing device about having to write to princess Celestia is good but the actual writing of the letters always annoy me a little, the lessons are not often so complex that they need summary.

Next is the art design, which is lovely. I'm not an artist so i don't really anything about the technical stuff and why it looks nice, but i do think that it looks really nice.

The music is really good too, with most background music being enjoable and the large majority of songs being really really good.

Now what really makes this show great for me is the characters. It feels like a lot of work has been put into making these characters, and they are explored in an interesting way. I do feel like they are missing out with Princess Celestia, because as it stands she is just kinda there, but she has the potential to become the most interesting character ever (i can go about this but it's not relevant right now.)

Now for characters I'm going to use Rarity as an example because she is my favorite. I prefer her because she is pretty much the embodiement of what i said earlier about characters overcoming themselves. She usually has to deal with her prissiness and egotism in order to help her friends or sister. This is often played for laughs.

But while she is usually selfcentered she is also very kind towards her friends and always want them to look their best, because this is what she considers important. There is an entire episode devoted to her making a dress for all her friends (it's better than it sounds) because she wants them to look good and be happy.

She feels like an actual character, like all the others. None of the main cast feel like stereotypes is probably what I'm getting at. Some of the others might (?) and some of the adversaries do (Trixie and Gilda come to mind) but thats okay (not good just okay) because the show is about the main characters development and not the bad guys.

I also really like the setting with dragons, manticores, hydras and cerberus and the general magical setting, because it allows the creators to put them in situations of actual danger with cool monsters.

But if the show is a delicous pizza then the fanbase is the peperoni on top, making it perfect. Everything gets better when you share it with someone and I'm sure i wouldn't like it as much as i do without the fanbase and my IRL friends who like it too.
