The name "alicorn" is now canon. Although it has existed since who knows when because people imagined the two breeds of mythical horses fucking long before the internet was invented.

Actually "Alicorn" is a word used for the horn on a unicorn in the typical myths.
Over time, with the introduction of the winged unicorn the word was used for the being itself, rather than just the horn of a unicorn.

Fuck I hate it when people go around claiming every episode is fan pandering, Lyra and Bon Bon go together because there colors go good together, Derpy is just a background pony, if it was fan pandering she would stand out from the crowd somehow. Trixie was made to come back, her last line in her first episode was "You haven't seen the last of the great and powerful trixie" pr something like that. The rock farm was canon before it was fanon.

People on /mlp/ are complaining 24/7 about it.
